Avoid Paris, they will take it downstairs. Treasure Island was great also. They let me park it myself.
Thanks for the thoughts I do like the idea of a hotel with a valet that leaves the car out front. Not sure if the Wynn does that.
Nice thread. Useful info. Caesars was fine last time (as long as you go around side & not front). Not sure where they keep your car, though, but quick call to valet before heading down & it was waiting for us. Probably going to Vegas after Xmas, anyone have experience with the Flamingo? T
Good: Wynn/ Encore, Bellagio. Aria also as it has unlimited valet space useful on a holiday weekend. Biggest problem at Bellagio is the long uphill entrance on a busy day -- clutch burner. Nice but small -- hard to get in and out: Cosmopolitan. Friendly valets. Bad: Like avoid like the plague --- Mandalay Bay. Park at Luxor and walk if you must or just park it yourself in back. Apparently the old "THe Hotel" which is now "Delano" is the first hotel in Vegas to charge $20 bucks to valet there if you don't have a room key. Another reason to avoid.
+1. Amazing, it goes to show you who you get at any given time. It's never really consistent with any hotels. I was at Barrett-Jackson at Mandalay and had no problems with a couple of valet guys, they let me park it myself. I wasn't aware they charged $20, I was lucky.
treasure island parking is really tight, I was pretty worried leaving my 360 there. I was convinced I would get some door dings as the spaces are pretty tight, pleasantly surprised 2 days later with no dings. Paris was fine, spaces were a little bigger and no issues. I don't valet, I just park with normal cars.
I agree but I don't let anybody park any of my cars, even my wife's MPV. Last time at the Wynn Encore I drove to the top floor and parked in a large corner spot and put on a locking car cover. I've done that before without a problem. This time I stayed 5 days and there was a Wynn parking ticket under my windshield wiper. They lifted up the car cover to place the ticket and didn't pull the car cover all the way back down over the bumper. When I went back in to ask about the ticket they simply advised me to tell security about any prolonged stay, which I will do next time I stay several days. Apparently there are people who use casino parking lots as long term parking and aren't guests of the hotel.
Stayed at the Wynn. Perfect, but I had a check in problem. They tried to put me in another hotel! 30 min. And my refusal to move got my room. Not a good start but that was the only problem
So it is starting to sound like if I'm going to pick my purchase at Penske's dealership in the Wynn I staying there would be fine. However I do like staying at Bellagio and the Aria. I have been thinking using Valet would just keep the drinks from stumbling around the car. But maybe I'm over thinking and a casino parking ramp would be fine. I never let a valet here at home park my new BMW M5!
When they park your car up front, do you worry about random people touching your car? I saw hand prints last time they did that so now I am not sure about parking up front either...lol Maybe we can use a portable car bubble storage!
The Valet parking at the HARD ROCK hotel is very safe and secure if you use the Harmon entrance, not the main front entrance. if you call ahead at the Cosmo hotel the valet will hold a spot for you in front.
That's good to know. Also, Planet Holywood Miracle mile shops valet is great, they let you park your own exotic in the prime spots.
I like to park my car myself when I use the Valet. What Hotels, Restaurants and Nightclubs will let me do this and who will not. I tip between $20-$50 dollars, is this a good price range?
Impossible to do in Vegas. You cannot valet the car yourself anywhere I know of. The reason is they will not let you in the secure area and do not want you crashing your car into another customer. I've never heard of it. The closest I've seen is the HRH on the bottom floor. They will let you pull it out but not park it yourself.
I guess it depends on who's working that night. With a $20-$40 tip I was able to park my own car in front of Paris, Caesar's Palace, South Point, and Wynn Encore successfuly. I also won't let a valet guy drive my cars so it's not always easy but with a good tip, it's quite possible.
Scaledetails, When you parked your car yourself at the Valet did you lock the car and take the key with you? I have had Some valet tell me you can park the car yourself but you have to leave the key with them.
