Tues nov 3 - fri nov 6 I'm skipping this year, having gone 3 out of the past 4 years, and I was just in Vegas two weeks ago for Barrett Jackson
Would love to go, have never been Does anyone know if tickets are still available? Cars - 2013 Ferrari 458 Spider 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SEMA is from Nov 3 - Nov 6 this year. I also have never been but would love to go. Apparently tough to get in to unless you're an industry affiliate. I did read a few years ago that the Friday is open to the public but am not sure that is true. I also heard it is easier if you are part of a larger car club/group, hence my post here If anyone has a ticket (or two), preferably for the last day or two, please PM me. Thanks
Guys, tickets are available on Craigslist a few days before the show, vendors and companies selling their extra passes. Most I saw were in the $75-100 range, compared to $25 if you are a member. Even at the Craigslist prices, it is well worth it, go if you get a chance, and wear good walking shoes !!
Last year on Friday night they did sema ignited behind the Linq, which was open to the public. They are doing it again this year.
Linq sounds good!! Thanks!! Cars - 2013 Ferrari 458 Spider 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I get into town on Thursday morning. Most likely will be there Friday from 9 to 2-3. Yes, you can see most of it in 3-4 hours if you aren't shopping for something. It depends on what you're looking for. If you just want to walk through, its possible. But I like the look at the cars out front for an our or two alone. I'm going to try to hit the late night events on the Strip this year also. I'm rather curious.
Absolutely impossible! I attend every year, and have never been able to see everything of interest in under 2 full days (even with 24 hour access credentials that allow me to stay after closing).
Do the passes have names on them? Will I be asked for credentials if I have a pass? I'll be down there Nov 1- 5 for my wifes 40th with two other couples. I was thinking the three guys could wander around for a few hours. I've sent a few emails to sellers with passes on Craigslist, I haven't heard back from anyone
There is no such thing as a pass. Credentials are issued by SEMA to members of the automotive industry, press, etc., and have the holder's name, affiliation and status (such as exhibitor, buyer, VIP, special guest, press or a few other categories) displayed on the front. Credentials must be displayed at all times (typically worn around the neck) and there are security guards at the entrance of each of the exhibit halls that check for credentials upon hall entry. IMO, if you only have 3 hours I would first go directly to South Hall.
Thank you, I appreciate the advice. So chances are if I pruchase a "pass" (credentials) from someone. It will have someone else name on it?
Correct Best advice I can give you is don't act nervous or suspicious, walk in with confidence like you know what your doing and you belong there. I have never seen anyone with a pass / credential be asked for identification to match the pass / credential. As mentioned it just has to be visable around your neck in the badge holder.
That's exactly what I was told by a couple of the Craigslist people I contacted and just what I'm gonna do. Seems pretty similar to CES..... Any good afterparties going on on the Friday night? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Friday night everybody goes home. Just want to get the heck out of there. Best parties are Wednesday, and then a few on Thursday.
SEMA Ignite, for the second year is Friday night. Also limited access to the public to view the cars of SEMA.
Made this short video from the SEMA show in Las Vegas yesterday.https://vimeo.com/144873803 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's great! I was there yesterday. Someone in the wheels area had a wide body white Huracan that was pretty cool. I didn't take a picture of it because of the crowd. Only ONE F CAR in the entire show - a standard F12 in the Pirelli booth. This year had some of the most bizarre custom cars I've ever seen there. It was hard to tell from the angle but that new Ford GT looks HUUUUUUGE! I don't think that was a working car on display but the LeMans car was. I was wondering if there was an F car there. I didn't see one. Got lost in that place and certainly did not see it all. I really thought that black Ford GT was the show stopper for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Justin Bieber's 458 from SEMA. Opinions???? Not about Bieber, since you all are screaming girls when you see him..... . ..... but the car. http://youtu.be/QzrvMkHOwmM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I saw two F12's and a handful of 458's but that was it as far as Ferraris go. And I go through three full days of walking around three halls and outside.
