Come on FNA, Hublot and Towbin! - now that we have lost the marquee Penske-Wynn dealership and Ferrari Store, you should put your nickels together (lots of them) and give us a nice Ferrari World somewhere on the strip!

Doesn't need to be a colossal Abu Dhabi Ferrari World theme park, but at least some F1 simulators, a choice selection of inventory from Towbin, some select Hublot Ferrari watches and Ferrari merchandise.

Would be a big attraction and promote all three brands effectively!

Totally agree. Problem is property prices on the strip could only be supported by gaming revenue so it seems. I would love to see it happen though. The Ferrari brand is so powerful.

Theme park should be Vegas, draws a fresh international crowd everyday all of which watch F1. Plus I want to eat at Ristorante Montana.

    I completely disagree.

Vegas is no place for kids. They tried this years ago with rides at MGM, NY NY, the Sahara, etc in an attempt to bring families and their children, and it was a failure. The only "ride" left is the roller coaster at NY NY, and when I was there in September I didn't even see it running.

Vegas is not a place for children, which is the main draw of any amusement park.

Think there is still the coaster at the Strat. Anyway. kids have their own amusement parks. Let this one be for adults (chronologically, not mentally!). :)

There are millions of kids who visit each year with their parents. Millions. Walk down the strip midday on the weekend, they're everywhere.

I agree the family-friendly Vegas was a massive bust. I lived here through those years. But, it didn't fail because people didn't bring their kids on vacation.

I can't see this in Vegas. I can see it in Orlando which is kiddie center each year.

For sure Vegas could use a theme park. But I can't see Ferrari being the first to enter that market. A failure there would be horrible for the brand.

Right now the city seems focused on two things

    1) fixing up, improving, and enlarging the Convention Center. Vegas lost out for the first time last year to Chicago in Conventions. Orlando also has a major Convention operation. If they don't improve it's going to continue to slide.

    2) trying to find the financing of an outdoor Football stadium and get the Raiders to move there. The NFL is against it which isn't helping. But it seems like the best location is not near the airport but at the North end of the Strip.

If LV can get Hockey and NFL football it would be a huge boost to the economy. Even Wynn says he makes more money in non-gaming activities than gaming at his two hotels. When Millenials play games they play Xbox, not Slot machines. The future for Las Vegas is in non-gaming, and that includes major league sports.

Yes. Cost is about 1.4 Billion. So far they have about 1/2 of it in private funding.

It's a cat and mouse game with the Raiders. "If you build it they will come"... but the NFL isn't so sure.

Sorry but I completely disagree. Not that Vegas is anything like Orlando, but the Ferrari theme park does not belong in Orlando either. Let's not forget Ferrari isn't "Disney", as they don't have the same demographics. I know kids love Ferraris, but the adults are the ones buying the tickets, and they will bring their kids to the theme park.
With over 40 million visitors each year and plenty of hotels with kid friendly attractions like pools (check out Golden Nugget as an example), amusement parks (Circus Circus), gaming centers (Excalibur, NY NY), and that's just the strip. There's a ton of other things outside the usual "strip" area. Anyone saying Vegas is not kid friendly is dead wrong, ask the kids walking around everywhere on the strip.
I think the Ferrari theme park would blend right in. I hope Ferrari is reading this ;)

The convention center will be one of the largest in the world once they are done with it, so the city is on the right track. The football stadium is another issue, but that would definitely be icing on the cake for us all.
I think Ferrari should step into the ring. They have the most recognizable brand on the planet. They had the highest grossing store in the world when it opened at Wynn, and it was buried inside the casino! You had to walk half a mile to get to it. Think of what they could do if they were directly on the strip. Too bad Wynn screwed things up for Ferrari, I am sure they have a bad taste of Vegas as far as business deals.

I don't know why you'd take a family vacation to Vegas unless your kids are grown, there aren't a whole lot of family activities there that are child friendly and there's a whole bunch of child unfriendly stuff everywhere you turn.

There's fun stuff, especially if you get off The Strip. The Pinball Hall of Fame to name but one...T

I took my kids there before we moved, stayed at Treasure Island and they were simply amazed, and wanted to come back. Not everyone is the same, some like it and some don't, but I can say there are thousands of family vacationers here just about everywhere on any given day, even on Freemont Street where you can actually see some nasty looking naked "entertainers". I just laugh that off, that's what makes Vegas Vegas.

I don't believe you need a kiddy-centric play land. Tots aren't who the brand needs to be promoted to - isn't it the thousands of teens and twenty/thirty somethings (and us older kids) packing the strip on any given day? Aren't they the ones that aspire to Ferrari ownership? The Ferrari brand would be totally lost in Orlando. Vegas is packed full of the exact international demographic Ferrari needs to keep its brand number one in the world. Thinking of amusements parks as only for kids is the type of rigid thinking that Vegas has always avoided and what makes it the amazing place it is. If they built it, I would go.

Yes, but many 20-40 something's have families and won't take a destination trip to a place that isn't kid friendly. I'm sure there are kid friendly things to do in Vegas but it's not a family destination unlike, say, Orlando...I went to Vegas on business and it was ok. Not my cup of tea but I can also understand the draw. However, there's no way I'd make it a family trip so would rule it out as any kind of destination for my family for the next 15 years or so. I guess it depends on the demographic they're after.

The problem is you're imposing your own personal opinions on others. Trust me, families, by the millions, vacation here each year.

Tourism spends more money on non-gaming than gaming now. For sure a ton of kids come to LV every year.

I think the other problem with "a theme park" in LV would be the weather. It's just too hot to have an outdoor space during the peak summer vacation months.

I'm not imposing anything on anyone. Fact is, as a family man I would be far less likely to go to a Vegas Ferrari world than one located just about anywhere else as Vegas just isn't a good place to bring the whole family imo. I'm not saying that based on reputation, but based on having been there in the last year.

You are free to disagree but to think that's not a widely held perception among people with families is to bury your head in the sand. Maybe you think it's unjustified, and that's fine, but having been there and seeing the strip club advertisements, barkers, drugs offered, obviously inebriated/high people walking around, and then people sleeping it off the next morning on the sidewalks is not something I'd like to expose my kids to - and this was during the week.

I saw some people with their kids there and that's their prerogative, but I wouldn't do it. Sure, you could avoid the strip but then what's the point of going there?

All I can tell you is a ton of kids come to LV. Sometimes I don't even know why but they do.
