How about a thread with flash back pictures and/or stories?

1: Grand Bayou race 2003. It was when the CRX were the race cars of choice to beat and blow up. Fun times.

2: When No Problem was new and the Ferrari club would have track days. The lady with the silver 328 went off course. The occupants got drenched with muddy water. Bonus points if you remember who was in the passenger seat.

3: #0808. Amazing to follow and hear the roar. Note how narrow it is!

4: A drive when i had first gotten the '86 328. All four of these cars are no longer in the area.

1: The FFQC when we had the Sunday morning "cruises" thru the Quarter. Crowds were crazy. I had the 328 with no cats and a Tubi. Sounded amazing at redline in 2cd gear going down Decatur.

2: The 250 Breadvan and Enzo. I believe this picture was when the Enzo was new. Breadvan is gone to a new owner

3: The escorted packs we had. Speedo is blurry on the 328 but it is triple digits. What a blast!

4: Rare open wheel Ferrari. #1541? No longer in the area. Silver 512 Boxer in the back ground is also no longer in the area. Lost to Katrina I heard.

Thank you for posting. Especially the first one with CRXs, with Chris Sacco, Franco and I. I was young in this photos! I wish I could send to Chris to tease me.

Giving a LA State Trooper a ride around the track. Nice guy but he had an leaking ink pin in his pocket that let a stain on my leather that was a PITA to get out. Sold this car locally where it stayed for a year or two. Then it was sold off and totaled in the Carolina. RIP.

The Christmas toy run to the Barone street shelter. Even in poor weather and rain we had good turnouts. Fun times.

The F50 (aka as the F50K). Shown here getting a clutch job. Being worked on by an awesome tech and friend. In 2000 i was amazed to see this car down in the Quarter parked at the curb. Met the owner who always showed me that cars were meant to be driven and enjoyed. No trailer potatoes for him (or me). Owned and enjoyed more then any other F50 it was sold out of the area to NY,NY. Damaged badly.

Linder's F40 LM tribute. Saved from a badly burned street car. He drove the bejesus out of that car both on the track and the highly unsuitable streets of NO. No idea where this car is now.

C'mon Kelly, you know better than to create an entirely new username just to circumvent the rules regarding posting.

    3-day ban...

You can post unlimited pics with a subscription, of which I'm sure you can afford the $1.25 per month :)

bummer- kelly is in purgatory. let's all pray for his release.

wonder why Rob limits the amount of picture posts. seems like free contribution to the site shouldn't be limited.

Only the second username was permabanned, the 3-day ban on his regular account will already expire tomorrow.

Then Kelly is free to subscribe and repost that picture of himself mooning (fully clothed) the camera in front of a Ferrari :)

I will pay him not to moon the website.
Why is banning the only tool for regulating the website?

All it does is temporarily restrict him from posting for 72 hours. In the meantime he can still view everything that he was normally viewing (his last login was yesterday at 4:09PM), so I'm still not certain why such a minor 72-hour ban resulted in him emailing me at work and CC'ing said email to several outside parties who had nothing to do with the situation he created in the first place.

He's been on the board since 2002, so he knew that he was sidestepping the rules by creating the new account.

Seems like a whole lot of drama for something so silly. Who knew that the internet was such a serious place? :)

I suspect he really thought that both of his accounts earned a permanent ban, but that simply wasn't the case.

I didn't ask how a ban works or what it does. I knew that.
I asked why that is the only tool used to moderation on the website.
It wasn't a question for just this event- it is a general question.

In general, it is not the only tool for moderation. In many instances there are private warnings and public warnings before a ban occurs. Whereas some rules being broken result in automatic bans.

Many times the situation is reviewed in the moderator forum for outside input and comparisons to forum rule enforcement precedence.

    Suggestions always welcomed.
