Maserati was one of the featured marques at the Amelia Island Concours this years. I barely had time to look at the other cars as I was busy taking care of mine and talking to people. The cars were arranged in two classes ... street and race cars. The following posts has photos of some of the cars, hopefully others will share their photos.

I had seen this car before and really like it. The rear end is very nice, which of course I forgot to photograph. Also won an Amelia award.

Great stuff Ivan! Hopefully I can learn to transfer my photos when I get back home. I'm surprised that you had time to take any photos, as you were swamped, and busy the entire day; especially with the wandering super models!
There was a gorgeous maroon A6 Zagato on the opposite end of the field, and the 16 cylinder car from 1928 next to the A6 you have pictured. Also the A6GCS PF coupe! Plus, your own gorgeous Ghibli Syder. Truly a fitting tribute to the mark, at a World Class venue, blessed with perfect weather.

I was never able to get to see the 16 cylinder engine. Winner of one of the major awards ... best Zagato designed car. The award was presented by Andrea Zagato who I got to meet that morning ... really nice guy.

You probably noticed that some cars had ribbons:

Green = car participated in the Friday drive. Of the 350+ cars in the show only 20 cars participated as it was very cold and raining that day. Yes ... I was one of them :)
Luckily weather for the Sunday show was very nice and sunny.

    Blue = Best in class

Red = Amelia Award which is either a 2nd or 3rd place

Purple = Corporate award. These are considered the major awards and are given by magazine editors, designers, etc. Typically cars that get corporate awards do not get a class award in an effort to have more cars win something ... which is a smart move of the organizers.

This rounds up the cars that were in my class ... the next posts will be the race cars.

    Carmine,

You could have seen that car locally, it's owned by Laurence Auriana, it you attended Le belle Machinne in late July at Pocono. He's had a lot of his very significant cars at that event over the years. Cozza was there as a part of a factory visit for this car and even Walter showed up. They fired it up a couple of times that year, once at the track.

Maybe this year? It's the 100th.

    Hi Ivan:
That A6G2000 (black) looks like one I used to own back the 1980's - 1955 Frua A6G2000B #2103 - lovely car. Pretty sure it is the same one - the plastic bug deflector on the hood and the dark blue interior are the same.
    Cheers,
    Colin

I have the contact information of the handler that was showing the car, in case you want to contact the current owner.

I am not sure if people were gathering around my Ghibli spyder to look at the model or the car.

Several models were dressed with period dresses from the various decades and matched to cars. My Ghibli, representing the 1970's, got the girl with the short skirt and boots :)
