I know of one collector who is willing go to $7.5M USD already. ....my humble opinion is it will sell for more than $7.5M USD. It is "storied" and a fantastic car!!!

Never but both the production of 450S is confused with some authors/ experts confusing the issue of #4501, 4505 & 4506. Some feel they are seperate cars, others would argue otherwise. Further questions would need to be asked of the issue of three (3) different cars with #4501. That alone would be worrying and could lead to an unscrupulous replica builder claiming this is one of the #4501........ However the car has clearly been approved by Ferrari and Maserati as original. The owner has been very open in other threads regarding the car and its provenance. The estimate is a 100 to 200 % discount off the value of a truly no stories 450S which you would expect US$15 million or more if you could find one. So I gues this takes into account the stories.
The following should clear things up it is a listing of all 450S': #3501 450S muletto (Works) Swedish GP Aug 1956 DNS. Engine removed, chassis sold renumbered 3510 present owner Genova, IT (currently bodied to resemble #4501 destroyed in May '57, not as the chassis appeared as the Muletto at Swedish GP '56.) #4501 (Works) Previously unknown chassis completed Fall 1956. Argentina Jan 57, wrecked May 57 practice MM destroyed. #4502 Parravano present owner Germany/Switzerland? #4503 (Works)- present owner Pacific NW #4504 Kimberly present owner USA #4505 (Works)- renumbered as 4506 sold the Edgar #4506 (Works) Costin Coupe temp assigned number #4501 for Le Mans June 57 replacing destroyed chassis (May 57). Converted for street use Renumber 4512 sold to Staver present owner USA. #4506 reassigned to #4505 sold to Edgar. Present owner - Germany #4507 (Works) Wrecked Caracas Nov 57 destroyed #4508 Buell present owner NY #4509 Rose present owner NJ #4510 Harrison present owner CA #4511 engine only presently in #4508 #4512 Costin Coupe renumber from #4506 after temp assigned #4501. A total of 11 chassis carried 450S engines from the factory, not counting Tipo 151, Tipo 65, Eldorado etc.
