Some very nice Maserati at the RM Monterey Auction coming up in August.

Here is a link for the Maserati that you know you have always wanted!

View Lots | Classic Car Auctions | RM AUCTIONS

The estimate prices are optimistic, but not unreasonable, considering that "non Maserati" section of the collector car world has finally discovered Maserati,...............Ferrari what? Enzo who?

To quote a local major collector, "Yes this is a Ferrari SWB,...but look at this,..THIS is a Maserati."

These are some very desirable Maserati here. Especially the 3500 GT Spyder Prototipo (Ivan are you watching?), and the 5000 GT (Frank M. time to get yours!)

I think the Frua 3500 GT sold for $325,000 last time offered.

And the 5000 GT was last sold for $675,000 if I'm not mistaken.

The 3500 Spyde prototipo I believe was "down under" in Australia for some time and was on offer for $135,000 about 10 years ago.

Good luck to all bidders. I'm shooting for the 5000 GT ;)

    Ciao and best!

For an obscure reason to me, the curator of the Bonhams catalogue omitted to say that Dany Brawand designed this car.

An interesting car. Last sold publicly by Al. Brener for approx. $27,000 USD. I viewed the car, it was "tatty" unsorted, and dirty and nobody really wanted it. I loved it. Looks as though nothing has been done since it was sold by Brener.

In my opinioin, what hurts this one is it is a rebody, and the car needs a major "freshening up" to put it kindly. I like it though.

    Very optimistically priced.

The Frua 5000 GT was a no-sale at $1.8 million without premium. I was close at $1.6 to $2.2M, admittaly that is a large spread. Heard it was going to take $2.2 million to get her!

The 59 Vignale 3500 GT Spyder prototipo sold for $975,000, without 10% premium and 2.5% import taxes, pushing it over the million dollar mark for a public sale, and maybe the highest price paid for a Vignale Spyder to date. (Public sale).

    Saturday should be interesting!

    ~Ciao and best!
