I have poked around on the internet, but not finding much recent. I need to up the insurance on my '59 3500GT, and would like to send "comps" to them as to current values/sales. Does anyone know of any recent sales I can use as support? Seems like some for sale merely state "to call for the price." Anything with a link I can email to my insurance company? Many thanks.
Just a thought and .02 Lira, negotiate an agreed value policy with a better underwriter like CHUBB. They have one of the best ratings in the insurance business. You can insure your car for a value you deem appropriate. I'd put it at $250K to $300K USD. Hagerty, IMHO is a joke. Their generated "values" are usually off by 25% to 45%, and their underwriters have one of the worst bad faith claims records in the "business" of insurance. Try and find a "number 1" concourse, nut and bolt 100% factory restoration for under $200K USD, as Hagerty "values" the 3500 GT. At that price I'll take two please! In the near future we will see $500K to $750K USD for a "Number 1" 3500 GT, there are so few in that condition. Not to mention the Vignale Spyder, or original unrestored survivor cars, which there are so few of and they are aggressively sought after by collectors these days. http://autoweek.com/article/car-life/1961-maserati-3500-gt-coupe-what-its-worth This one sold one year ago, needless to say it would bring more today. Ciao and best!
