Hi all, The engine hood frame of my Mistral is suffering from some rust, and we are at the stage where this is to be fixed. We were hoping we could fix it without splitting the aluminum skin from the steel frame. My friend suggested we could send the hood away for dipping in acid. Today I talked to a company specialising in rust and paint removal with acid. They told me this was no problem, but it would be a more manual job because of the aluminum. But; is there any insulation between the frame and the skin? If so it would of course also dissapear in the process, and then acid is not really an option. What does the experts say? //alex
