Hey guys, I have a 89 430 that we just did a major service on. The only thing they could not fix was the pesky cold start problem. The idle hunts from 800rpm to 1500rpm until it gets warm then it smooths out. Once it warms up it drives ok, but it def feels like the fuel system is clogged or fuel injectors or something. I wonder if there is a proven way to clean out the system without spending a fortune....

    Looks very nice. Beautiful color.
No idea how to fix the idling issue, unfortunately...

Hi Gabe, thanks for the kind words! The car had been sitting in a collectors garage for 6 years before I got it.....so I knew we would be chasing some gremlins....I can't wait to get her running right!

Perhaps cleaning of the idle control valve would do it.
You can do most off this yourself with some help.
Take a trip over to Biturbozentrum and the FI guys will get you fixed up. Google it.

I got one through e bay about 6 months ago. just now on the road and 100% fixed. very happy. you need a good shop. I have a great one here. I have not taken any trips. just short 30-60 miles. there were a lot of issues. wiring was rotten. one shop did not have the ability so now back in Lexington. all done. A/C and heat control replaced. rotten wires, lots. belt and tune up. repair $4,000. paid $4,000. happy. very quick and nice to drive. still small issues. it now sits next to the QP3
