I was given this number and was asked to do some research about it. The number should belong to the last of the three Touring Spiders as I found out at the 3500 Register. It is also said that the car is lost since 1990. Does anybody have some information about that car?
    Thanks
    Aramon

Thank you Andrea for the link.
The Touring Spider that has been sold by Gooding is 101.124 the second Touring Spider of three produced. The first Touring Spider is 101.010 and the third is 101.126. This car was lost since 1990 and it seems that it has been refound. That's why I do this research.

    Ciao

Well, the VIN tag is a reproduction and the chassis numbers have been re-stamped and they are fastened with rivets which are incorrect, it's not fake, but they are reproductions, for what it is worth. It also has incorrect fire wall molding.

In conjunction with doing a proper restoration, these should be corrected.

That is correct. The VIN on 3500 GT’s is normally fastened with screws and not with rivets. Also is it not placed on the fire wall.
But we have to consider that most of the 3500 GT had a hard live and untouched original cars are very rare. Further is 101.126 one of three prototypes, if it is the real thing, and perhaps it is different in some details.

This is a picture of the VIN tag of 101.124 the Temple Buell Jr. Spider and sister car of 101.126.
It is riveted and placed on the firewall. It seems that the Touring Spiders are different in some details.

Yes, Incorrectly riveted to the firewall, with reproduction VIN plate. IMHO.

    Beautiful car, I love it!!!

Yes, incorrectly compared with a Maserati 3500 GT Coupe. But both spiders have it on the same 'incorrect' place. Mere coincide?
