    Hi Mark, you are correct. The ZF S5-325 was fitted to several prestige cars in period, including the Aston Martin DB6 and the Maserati Ghibli.
    If you are looking to sell it then it is worth a fair amount, but if you are needing to refurbish it I think parts (apart from synchros) are very rare now.

    I took it out of my 63 AC prototype. car was a barn find in Devonshire England, was sitting inside since 87. the car originally had a ford 4 speed, but the second owner of the car wanted an overdrive so he put in the ZF. The car came with a handwritten log that detailed all of this. She drove great before the restoration. fresh gas and a new battery, Fired right up. Don't know the miles on the tranny before she was installed, but the car had 32k on it when I got it. This is not a warranty of any kind, but it was shifting smoothly in all 5 gears and reverse before I took it out.

    Is there anyway to tell, by the given S/N on an S5 325 gearbox, which car it originally went to?
