I sent a new set down to a gentleman down in Florida, along with the 4.9 block he purchased from me. They are quite stout, and he said he's very pleased with the results.

It was some time ago but they were similar in weight to the originals.
Another tip with JE pistons is to ensure the machine shop know they need Cast clearances 2.5 thou not forged clearance of 4thou

Thanks. The car ran well before it devoured its water pump, so this is just a precautionary rebuild. If I'm lucky, I won't need pistons or liners, but knowing the pistons weigh about the same means I have both options. We have an electronic crank balancer, but I'd prefer to make as few changes as possible.

I should not have been so mysterious in why I was asking....

Does anyone have the JE part # or job #?
Falta contributed part#309827 for his later-model (1985 QP) with the higher dome.
Does anyone have the part # for the earlier flat top pistons?
Should be stamped inside the skirt area.
