I drove an 09 GranTurismo automatic the other day, it has just 20k miles, and I have a few questions:

The shifts seemed a little soft on hard acceleration both in regular and sport mode. I expected them to be much harsher. Is this normal or a possible problem?

No spare, its suppose to have runflats?

Anything I should pay special attention to and what's the right price?'

    Thanks
    Bill

I had posted this in Maserati Life and had 0 responses, hmmmmmm

I haven't floored my GTS yet so I wouldn't know how it shifts on "true" hard acceleration... but so far the shifts have been mindless/flawless... I don't really think about them, but then again I drive on auto a lot as opposed to manual

I drove a 2015 California some time ago and its a totally different world... the cali felt like if you gave it a little acceleration it would just rocket off the ground... the maserati still has that rush feel though.... however the SOUND on the Maserati is 100 times better

The shifts are normal. The GTs have a ZF slushbox (except for a very select few with a 599 tranny) so the shifts will be super smooth.

Overall, the Maser V8 is a solid engine, and the GT is a solid car. I would just have a PPI done by a reliable tech, and if he says everything is ok then you are good to go. If you buy it, be sure to buy a trickle charger as well to save yourself from most future headaches. These cars are extremely sensitive to voltage. If it doesn't have the perfect amount or more, it is NOT happy.

Yep, the 599 transmission really does transform the GT. I think they will be really sought after in the future.

    Beautiful car, Raider.
