    Hello
I have spent many years building a small collection of Jensens all of which I have restored to a high standard, and have long admired the 3500GT.
Yesterday I took delivery of 101 * 1292 in kit form.
The car had spent the last 25 or so years in Sweden where it had been stripped and partially restored, some repairs have been made to the chassis frame, the body looks surprisingly good and a considerable sum has been spent on refurbishing a good percentage of the components. The engine is completely stripped but again most of the work appears to have been done and new valves and pistons are included, no doubt there are some surprises lurking.
If anyone has any history of the car above the information on 101.org I would be most grateful to hear from you.
I will be on this forum asking many daft questions over the next couple of years so please be patient with me.
If I can find one I would like to purchase a complete unmolested car to help piece together the puzzle, a runner requiring improvement would be ideal.

Welcome to the 3500 restoration club.
I will look forward to learning of your progress and challenges.
The first thing to do is to get your hands on a digital camera and post photos of the car, and the parts, in this way we can all participate in your ongoing journey.
    Good luck with the car.
    Ciao,

To say you have your work cut out for you is an understatement.
Great photo. Where do we start?
As a side note: I have been where you are going, several times.
Sometimes the cars fight you hard all the way and sometimes they are very compliant.
My wish for you is the latter.
Shown here is 101.916 a very compliant car.

    Nice photos.
The tool kit looks to be from a later car, perhaps a Ghibli?
    Keep the photos coming.

storage boxes full of goodies galore
I checked the engine parts today, In the box are main and end shells both +20thou
I tried the crank in the mains and it did not want to bed down so I tried no further and bolted a big end together with a plastigauge strip, that looked to have the correct clearance so I suspect the crank has been ground and may just need polishing before installation.
The mains may not have been ground down 20 thou so I could do with the journal dimensions to find out where I am.
I have not noticed any engine information on the internet, any help with this?

Well 19 looks like the clamp for the clutch reservoir, same as Alfa and
    early Ghibli.
Not a 3500 expert, so I'll quit while I'm ahead.

    Regards.

    Mark.

Just a guess but here goes.
    2 & 4 trunk latch
    5 wiper arm
    6 steering shaft clamp
    15 side chrome clip
    16 Front fog light clips
    17 can't see well enough
19 holds the brake reservoir can.
9 & 10 could be door panel springs that go behind window cranks.
22 looks very familiar, but I cannot place it at this time

Thanks for help so far which has identified these parts.
The previous owner had everything plated en mass, when I have all of the bits in the right boxes it will be simpler to restore and assemble each component.

    Hi,

Many of the parts are the same on my Sebring series one.

Here are few more that I recognize to add to the list:

    7. One of two brackets that hold the fresh air vent and heater box control to the dash, the 3 chrome lever unit.

    20. the very fine thread nut that secures the steering wheel to the shaft

Looks like the initial #3 is the spring clip that goes on the back of the jack hole covers in the lower rockers.
To me, #16 could be a seat back adjuster. It's not at all like mine, but who knows how things changed during production.
Please keep us posted on your progress & findings.
