1788 arrived in Seattle via truck for the owner to drive on the Pebble road tour to Monterey. The car has been accepted in the Touring Display at Pebble Beach on Sunday. I met up with the owner and popped off a few shots of the car. Following are some of my photos of the very beautiful restoration that had just been done. Very nice. I look forward to seeing when it arrives. I remember when Carlos drove his original paint 3500 GT on this tour. Great Stuff, Thanks, RF.
He said it was originally a grey color with PAC 1386 a rust color leather or some might call baseball glove color. He restored the car as he wanted it and not to the original colors, which is ok if thats what you want, after all it is your car. As I looked at the car I noted many things I would have done differently, however I did not offer, nor will I offer, any judgment. I will leave that to others. Ciao, FGM
I like the color, even if not original. It suits the car and it's lines wonderfully and is nicely restrained and tasteful, IMNSHO. As befitting a car of this pedigree.
Here is a 3500 which I believe is the original gold and black two tone colour, sold for $18K about 10 years ago, needing full restoration. Close to the car in question. The car in question is a very nice 3500 in my judgement. Rare cowl vent option as well!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am in the process buying a late 3500 GTI. Fresh from a 5 year restoration. The solid wheels have those late QP1/Sebring II hubcaps-as this Pebble Beach car does. Does anyone know if any 3500´s ever left the factory with any other hubcaps than those with the Maserati scrips? I would presume no.
