Didn't expect to see this today.[ATTACH][ATTACH]
I wondered when this would be spotted and of course my dear friend Piper discovered my new toy! I saw it briefly at the RM Auction and did a ton of due diligence prior to purchasing it at the RM auction. Cheers!
They're really neat on a big track! Where was it federalized, Classic Coach? I saw a lot of them go through there. They had MC12's apart all over that shop at the time, really cool.
Congrats! What an amazing car; I love it more than it's sibling. What were the plusses and minuses on this one versus the Black MC12 at Mecum?
I preferred the traditional color combo over the black and my MC12 had less miles 478 vs 1363 (thereabouts) and then after speaking to a few people leading up to the auction I liked the provenance of the car and that it was in Benny Cialo's collection. I was making a play at the Popes Enzo but stopped bidding at a number that didn't make sense to me and went to plan B. I too didn't think the car would be on the high range of the estimate but somebody else also wanted the car and I likely spent $250k more than I should have BUT in the end my kids will hopefully make up that difference with appreciation. Cheers!

I was told that it was homologated at Classic Coach when the first batch of MC12's arrived to the US. Here is a link with more data about the car. 2005 Maserati MC12 | Monterey 2015 | RM Sotheby's
I bought the Miura SV which was my 1st choice. My 2nd choice was the F50 but I did not care for its cosmetics, the 3rd was the MC12. If I didn't buy the SV I would probably not buy any thing as the max I wanted to pay was $1.8MM for the F50 and $1.7MM for the MC12. Geno
The guy who did all the specialized work (Felix) still works at Classic Coach if you ever need something explained. We got used to seeing these so often than I think we became a bit jaded. Doug Magnon gave me a ride around the track in his several years back. I did that in a back to back comparison with the Z07 Corvette at that time. Both had brutal, dizzying acceleration but the way the MC12 went through the toughest corner at that track made the Corvette seem like a coal truck by comparison. Given the price I guess it should. Mind that front spoiler on the street and don't forget to lift the car as it's easily caught and damaged as Doug unfortunately found out that day. Now that they're scattered all over the world I almost never see one now. Enjoy it.
Pictures of my MC12 after a full detail and paint correction by Todd Cooperider and DJ Mayo from Esoteric Auto and DJ Mayo Studios. I cant imagine the MC12 ever being this fresh including the initial delivery. Todd and his crew have mad skills! Thanks fellas! I'll be very curious to see how the collector market responds to the MC12 over the next 7-10 years. I've read many articles and threads about Enzo VS MC12 and for me I elected to purchase the MC12 for a variety of substantive issues. Cheers
