I recently met a photographer that is enamored with the with shape of classic cars ... especially Italian cars. He is not particularly a "car guy" the way most of us on this forums are but he has a very interesting way of looking at our cars in a very artistic fashion.

He spent several days photographing my cars as a way of building up his portfolio. The photos were taken in total darkness and he then moved lamps over the body while the camera shutter was open. It took him over 10 hours per car for about 10 photos per car .... plus many additional hours of post production. A total of 7 cars were photographed.

The photographer's name is Bill Pack and his website is v12enterprises.com

I will post a photo a day and will mix some non-Maserati photos just to keep it diverse.

Feel free to post comments about his work and I will share them with Bill.

Thanks for posting Ivan. That is very nice work. The grille and shut lines have a kind of 'architectural' quality to them.
    Can't wait for the Ghibli!

    Regards.

    Mark.

A photo like this shows why the Ghibli convertible is the best looking automobile of its generation and why Giugiaro was the finest designer.

Beautiful! I would rate the Ghibli coupe and spider as the crowning works in Giugiaro's career.

    Hi Ivan:
Sculpture is one of the fundamental artistic endeavours - so it is natural (and beautiful) to treat Maseratis photographically in that manner.
Is that a Merak SS or a Bora and what is the paint colour?
Attached is a picture of my Merak SS (in Oro Longchamps) a lovely rolling work of sculpture by Giorgietto Giugiaro.
    Cheers,
    Colin

    Hi Colin,

It is a Bora, which of course is identical to your Merak SS in the area the photo was taken. It is also Oro Longchamp.
I really like how Giugiaro designed the flying buttress on the Merak. You take them off and the car looks like a Fiero. With the buttress the shape is completely transformed.

I really need to pop out and buy a Ghibli spider in the near future as this one makes me want one in a bad way.

Bill Pack is still an unknown artist therefore, unfortunately, no exhibition at this time. His work speaks for itself ... it is a matter of time.
