Arrived today. QP number 7. Will try again. I sure have a large inventory of spares
I like these cars' rode around often in one and drove too on occasion a friends in the 80's. It was black, they look good in black, white...but 'camo', what the front door you doin there Mitchell? Love it, express yourself, you are one of a kind and I admire your ways.
Sell it to the Duck Dynasty guys ... Though I bet Maserati might offer you a lot of money to NOT have it appear on that program!
my sister and brother like the wrap. does that tell a lot about my family. Bob, your idea has great merit. I drove the car 8 miles to the shop. best running Maserati I ever bought. everything but the speedometer works. radiator leaks. I will know more this week.
I could sure use a lucky break. today was not one of those stress free days. the 430 is stuck in a ditch at my garage construction site. one wheel in a hole. the shop that has the QP3 did not touch it. said they would. every shop that said they would work on my cars this week has not touched them and may not until next week. the felon i have working for me did not do what I told him to do so I told him not to work tomorrow. that got his attention. the worst was my garage project. I have been trying to get a glass contractor for a year. the one the architect chose and got a quote from would not return my calls after a month. so I got rid of that company. today I met with a new company and got a quote. budget first quote, $112,000. now $368,000. bad day. this puts the project beyond my ability to finish. besides I got told by an fchatter that it is my fault that I am having problems with all these issues. and a supplier did not like it when I ask for his bank name and address. not my day.
Sounds like you need a good general manager. I'll sell my business and move to KY for the right salary!
+1 I just want to come out and help you also amigo, no salary needed. I know more than one car collector who needs some 'management' assistance. Consolidate collection, keep the winners, tear some heads off the construction thiefs, and yes, out for dos Equis with the most interesting man on fchat
and sure enough. the two front "A" arms are bad rusted through! I have spares, cars. so all good. brake lines rusty. so all hoses, belts and lines will be replaced. easy enough. shop will start next Wed.
A better purchasing agent would eliminate a lot of this. But maybe he likes the challenge of sadomasochistic Maseratis? He kind of takes in stray and unwanted cars ... Perhaps a TV reality show is the ticket here. Sort of a variation of Pitbulls and parolees? Mitchel talks about his relatives so glowingly so I bet they'd be terrific characters ... Then there's thieves he pins against the wall with a Maserati ... There's all the dram of so many cars ... And all the crooked mechanics ... And with this latest acquisition, the cammo QP3, he could have a tie in with Duck Dynasty! All that's needed is a catchy name. "Chasing Crooks and Cars".
all the bushings. the car I purchased has modified attachments for the top of the shocks. MIE sold a Heim joint kit for the shocks. kits no longer available. so I will convert to the original design. I am sure there will be more needs. Palo Alto Speedometer has the instrument cluster from the burnt car. they will return it Friday after a check up. the speedometer did not work in the car.
Never owned one Mitchell but I've had friends that did and the under engineered bushings in these cars is what I've been told causes the frequent suspension repairs. I think MIE must have been addressing this with the heim joints. But those wear and get a bit noisey. I've got them on the MIE suspension kit they made for the early Biturbos. I just got new joints from a supply house when they wore out. Not all that expensive. Can you do the same or is this more complicated?
worked every day since Tuesday on the car. they are still under the thing, replacing every rusty line. I did not look for another joint. I gave them a set of standard shocks.. if they still have the front apart Monday I may try to find a part to go back with the modified versions. I had my plate full of stuff this week and felt bad two days from a med. reaction.
