Hi, just wanted to share these two cool pictures i took far away from daylight in a garage... A 100% original never restored anything, matching numbers, and fully operational 3500 Vignale Spyder... The car have been sitting since the mid 90-ies, and another 20 years prior to that at the previous owner. The car is soon going on auction in Paris. Will be interesting to see that kind of price it will get!

When you look carefully at the auction photos you quickly realize this car is well pass the "patina" stage and into "needing a full restoration" stage. There is plenty of visible rust, and I am sure a lot more that is not visible ... plus missing parts, etc.

Cool car! Might be tough sourcing that windscreen...

Last time I checked new windshields reproduction were available. The car looks rather complete. The trim surrounding the rear taillights will not be easy to reproduce if the parts are missing.

Don't get me wrong, this is a great car to start a comprehensive restoration .... but it will require a ton of work.

The description said: "Around 20 cars were fitted with a longer engine bonnet which covered the wind-screen wipers as modern cars do. The windscreen was in turn a little deeper."

I read that to mean that the *curvature* of the glass was a little deeper (subtly hinting at the problem), but perhaps it is simply referring to the *placement* of an otherwise identical windscreen. For the sake of the buyer, I hope so.

Oh, come now Ivan, there is nothing wrong with this car that $250,000 won't cure.:)
I still love the patina. I just enjoy seeing old original parts on cars like this.
One day, old original parts will be a very rare sight.

The only parts missing is the windscreen, and the trident in the grille actually, biut you are right the windscreen is NOT standard as it is deeper than the normal one as it is a "Long bonnet" car i.e. pre production car. I found the car and it is actually pretty sound with good floors but some rust is showing just south of the front wheel arches. It has been off the road since around 1974..

In the photos the trim around the rear taillights is also missing. Good to hear the car is mostly solid as Vignale spyders are known to rust.

With all due respect, "100% original" and no rear pipes??!! Not
