I am researching a Maserati 3500GT delivered new to Scuderia Serenissima in 1961.

I need to find the keeper of the flame for Scuderia Serenissima.

Who might be the expert on this race team?

Diena and Silingardi (founders of Sport Auto, Modena) worked for Serenissima for a time. Adolfo Orsi will probably know.

Standard production 3500GT? Delivery to Scuderia Serenissima (located then at Neri e Bonacini in Modena) or Giovanni Volpi?

Yes, standard 3500GT. Maserati tells me it was delivered to “Scuderia Serenissima S.r.l.” in Modena (Count Volpi di Misurata). July 11, 1061.

Probably delivered to Neri e Bonacini at via Nicolò Biondo 212-214 in Modena and probably for Giovanni Volpi's private transportation. Scuderia Serenissima was located there, had an office in the first floor (212) and the cars were garaged in a separated room in the basement. From January 1960, Giorgio Neri and Luciano Bonacini, ex Maserati works mechanics, provided maintenance and racing services for all Scuderia Serenissima entries, but no entry of a Maserati 3500GT is known. And: Scuderia Serenissima was no registred entity (S.r.l.= Società a responsabilità limitata). 'S.r.l.' might be just an assumption in the Maserati papers. Any period pictures of the car?

This sounds very interesting! A Scuderia Serenissima 3500GT is something I never heard about. I'd be very interested in a s/n or any pictures of the car. Does it still exist? What else do you know about the car's history?

The Neri and Bonacini is an interesting piece of information. I wonder if there are shots of their workshop out there?

This 3500GT is chassis number AM101.1902. Delivered 7/11/1961. Which I assume means 7 Nov, 1961. I get a bit confused with us Americans doing it the other way.
So it would have been a fresh set of wheels for the 1962 season.

I believe that Count Volpi also had a 3500 Touring bodied convertible.

No period photos of the 3500GT - as yet.
