There are more auctions today not sure if there are Masers left in those but I am glad almost all sold except the Vignale spyders at Gooding and RM which probably had silly reserves, I was worried that there were too many but all the special cars sold for serious numbers if not record ones and the more common ones made good or at least decent money. So a readjusting market but an active one Best regards, Marc
The results of yesterday's Gooding auction as consolidated by Fchatter Timmmmy in the main Monterey auction thread, many thanks again to him. Quote: David Gooding announced $129 million in sales (record for Gooding) over the two days and an 80% sell through. All of the results are subject to confirmation. He mentions that there are three other lesser auctions, Mecum, Russo & Steele and Rick Cole which also took place at Monterey, these are less prompt to give results, Cole never gave his for 2015.... So most Masers sold and with solid if not crazy numbers, I was worried before this past week with so many on offer but this is good Best regards, Marc
The Ghibli SS Spyder was much nicer than the Ferrari Daytona Spyder that sold for 2.25mil. It is a shame that there is still such a price difference. The Daytona had many non original parts and the Ghibli was close to perfect.
It has been thus for a very long time. Performance wise the Ferrari is faster, quicker and has a more advanced suspension etc. Is it THAT much better? The market says it's more desirable. Ghiblis were quite popular when they were new and are far more livable/civilized as a GT car. Doesn't matter ...
