Now H' lists Eight [8] Bora for sale. Nice selection. Plentiful inventory can signify lessening demand... overall and/or re Bora. Interesting to see how this plays against coming year, looming election and economic fallout. One way to assess is to compare against similarly ranked classics, of same rarity (approx.) Has there been any expert estimate of the number of Bora that remain undestroyed, eligible? Could be less than 400 by now, covering all years of production. My preference is for early, LHD, pre-smogcheck mandate cars, under 50k miles, NOT 'restored'. Under 50 left? How to calculate with meaningful objectivity? Drive on!
The Merak lads are more fecund at the Registry biz... perhaps as there's more of them. Good attitude and spirit too. Wonder what it might take to partner up there, given obvious overlaps, etc.? Let's spark that! All interested Bora owners should engage there, perhaps? My '73 4.9 Bora US '626 now up to about 42k miles. Refreshed all underpinnings this past year or so. Feeling grand-new! Such fun to drive vigorously. Keep the flag flying.
Why don't you contact them. I know they were interested in starting a Bora Registry a few years ago perhaps you could be the guy to help them do it? George at least is an enthusiastic easy going guy.
Not really... Had it in hibernation for awhile driving the Ferraris. Did a fresh service and tune up recently and had it out all day last Saturday.. It's one hell of a car!
Best mid engine "car", not the fastest or most sporty, until the NSX and that one copied a lot of the concepts embodied in it.
