    I am confused by the lower timing chain adjustment lever. It only appears in the parts manual for the twin timing chain engine, but is installed on my single chain 4-liter engine (No. 902). Does this lever serve any function on single chain engines and is any adjustment required if a new timing chain is installed?

    Factory parts book is incorrect.
    This is for the backlash adjustment between the crank gear and main gear. Very critical! If you dont get it right you'll tear both gears. Set it around 0.012 to 0.015"
