Guys, I really need your help giving back. Dupont Nemours Children's hospital is hosting their third annual prom for patients with Cancer and Blood disorders on April 26th from 5-6. These children unfortunately missed their own proms due to their illness. The hospital asked me if anyone in our car community would be interested in helping transport patients and their guests from the Doubletree hotel on Concord Pike to the Hospital, a few miles away. Obviously, I told them that many of our exotics were two seaters, and they indicated that it would not be a problem. Depending on how many drivers we get, we may have to do a few runs, but they are looking in to arranging a police escort if possible. Guys, this a wonderful opportunity to help give an unforgettable night to some young adults who have had a really rough go of it. Please help me. I would love it if we could have 100 cars. I know it is a lot, but what else could we possibly have to do on a saturday night that is more important than this. As an extra incentive, my firm will donate $1000.00 to the hospital if we get enough volunteers to make this viable. PLEASE SIGN UP: 1. JoeZaff-- Testarossa and MGB (if ready 2.
Joe, we'll all be up at the Hershey show that day, but I figure if we get out of there by 3 pm at the latest, we'll have enough time to do this. I'm in. 1. JoeZaff-- Testarossa and MGB (if ready 2. Scott Wexlin (Viper)

Joe, I will definately be up for this. Send me a PM and let me know who you deal with there. This is my turf and I've shot there a hundred times. I shot a 24 straight hours in their emergency room last summer. Know most everyone there. I won't be at the critter show because of work, but I will be off in time for this. You really have a good heart my friend.

Hi. I am a newbie to the forum and this is my first post, but what a better cause to chime in on. I live in the DC area but would be willing to drive up to help. I may also be able to drum up some additional cars to participate if needed. Let me know how I can help. I have a ferrari f430 coupe.
Thank you so much for your kind offer! We would love it if you would join us. Anyone else you could drum up would also be appreciated! Welcome to the forum!

I am proud to report that, with your help, we have a FULL LIST!!!!!! I also want to thank Phil Tegtmeier for his assistance in bringing folks from outside the C&C area to assist us. As promised, our firm donated $1000.00 to the Hospital yesterday, it is my understanding the donation will be used for the prom. It is a privilege to be associated with all of you. I can't tell you how much all of us appreciate your time and generosity. I will keep you posted as the date approaches with any updates. The only suggestion I would make at this time is that everyone with convertibles remember to put their tops up! I am sure these young ladies and gentlemen want to look their finest for the event My sincerest thanks,
Joe, just to circle back, it turns out I will actually be out of the country that weekend, so I'm sad to say I won't be able to help out (and sad to miss the Hersey show). But I don't think you counted me in the tally, so hopefully that won't be a problem. Thanks and best of luck! Look forward to seeing pics! Dennis
UPDATE!!!!!! I spoke to the Hospital yesterday, below is the email from them regarding the event. Again, I want to thank everyone who volunteered to help! ... If you could have drivers arrive at the [DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, 4727 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE) between about 4:30 and 4:45 pm on Saturday the 26th, we will begin loading up the cars right around 5pm. From there, they will take them directly to the Hospital, which is about 6 minutes away. The address of the hotel is 4727 Concord Pike. The hospital address is 1600 Rockland Rd. Wilmington, Delaware. Committee members are working with the hotel to make sure they can accommodate the 20 cars. Once driving through the gates, here are directions of where the drivers will drop the patients for the event: When you enter through the main gates of the hospital, make your first left into the Emergency Department parking lot. Then take your 1st left—it looks like it is just a parking lot, but at the end of the row there is a driveway. Follow the driveway around and take a left. The building ahead of you will say “Alfred I. duPont Institute”. There is a circular drive with parking on the sides. You will pull to the left to let the kids off, and someone will be there to guide you. At this point, we are expecting to only need drivers to do one trip. If they would like to then park in the parking lot and walk over to cheer on the patients as they arrive, they are more than welcome to. Otherwise, unless anything changes dramatically with the number of patients, the drivers are free to leave. There will be a large group of people, including mummers, and others who will be welcoming the patients as they walk into the building. ….
