Did not see this posted anywhere. This is my first year attending and entering.
I just take pictures, but yeah this is one of my favorite events. Last year was my first and the Inn at Pocono Manor was a kind of awkward place to have it, but Skytop should be a stunning location and I'm sure others can speak about when it was there years ago.
Was at a wedding at Skytop a few years back. An outside wedding in April, and there was a freak snowstorm! They had to scramble to get everything inside. Big ole place - think "Dirty Dancing" meets "The Shining"!
On a sunny day in June its is by far the best place to have a Ferrari car show. The view is pure Heaven. But that is my 2 cents.
Thats pretty funny! QUOTE=swexlin;143171117]Was at a wedding at Skytop a few years back. An outside wedding in April, and there was a freak snowstorm! They had to scramble to get everything inside. Big ole place - think "Dirty Dancing" meets "The Shining"![/QUOTE]
So let's hook up at the show!ill start the list Jon walton turbos7903 Don butler Union Jack Kevin Braley
You'll love it, it's a great show with the variety of cars that come ( here's hoping for a Miura to appear) . It's a long damn drive, but worth it. A bit of a dawn patrol unfortunately, and keep your fingers crossed the "30% chance" of an occasional shower stays away and doesn't affect the turnout.
Registration is Friday 3 til 10. Concours starts Saturday at 9 then luncheon starts at 11:30 .... I'll be there Fri & Sat
Miura SV last year was very cool. Weather report now shows pretty much no rain, hopefully all the owners are seeing this updated forecast and come out!
Sitting outside at Skytop right now, weather is fantastic. Tomorrow is suppose to be the same only 10% chance of rain.
Anyone going through the southeast part of PA up to the show that could give me a ride up there? I don't need a ride back but I can pay for gas if that helps. Thanks! -Jared
Glad to see you got home safe and sound, John. If anybody is bored, here's what I thought were the interesting cars there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdibOyIT-Ec
Great video paul, good that you got home safe and sound. I love how you gave the chrome lambo 2 seconds! I do have to say, i'll bet the guy with the chrome lambo throws great parties. " serenity now "
Definitely some beautiul cars along with perfect weather. Turnout wasn't nearly as good as last year. Anyone have any idea as to why? https://flic.kr/p/o4DiQ5 https://flic.kr/p/o4BhnR https://flic.kr/p/nM7ULm https://flic.kr/p/o4jcMD
What's the story with this car? Drove in and drove right out. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I overheard the conversation, he didnt want to pay the $75. I looked in the engine bay and it has a chevy v8 in it . It supposedly is a 288 gto that somehow has lost its engine. I did see it had a ferrari rear subframe with a chassis number on it so i would say the car is real . It also had a ferrari steering column with a vin mumber on it , why the engine , i don 't know Its possible that it was a theft at some point because something didnt look right about the dash and some of the interior, looked homemade. The firewall behind the seats was definately fabricated, probably moved forward to allow the engine to fit " serenity now "
Yeah, it was the lowest turnout I have ever seen, despite ideal weather. I'm wondering if it's losing it's momentum, which would be a shame. Not sure next year it will be worth the 2 1/2 hour drive up the Northeast Extension. The only good thing about that road is it's almost an Autobahn... people flat fly along there. it was pretty much 80 to 90 mph going with the traffic flow. Certainly keeps one alert at those speeds.
