Local Optometrist Help

I've just wasted an hour in an optometrist's office, a very young optometrist, that had a perfect deer in the headlights look when I started asking him for a note to explain why I need the side tint in my car, now that I'm wearing progressive lenses, that the flicker in my peripheral vision is causing me trouble. He just didn't get it, kept offering sunglasses which don't help this particular problem. Anyone have a good Optometrist they can recommend that might have a little more experience in these areas?
