Let's see...How many track days can you buy for $10 million?

 

I used to haunt that place years ago as a timer and young enthusiast along with Bill Pairo and others who raced in the DC heat. It is a decent track but no world class event maker considering it is in a bad place traffic wise. PG County does not need another massive traffic jam on summer weekends to conflict with the Route 4 Solomons traffic. That portion of PG County is a no class area and such a venture would be a loser.

 

I saw Bruce Jennings eat a few Corvettes and Cobras with his Carrera Speedsters there, many decades ago.

 

Maryland would be a tough place to build or bring back a racecourse. Fun to dream though

 

does not appear to be in exactly race ready condition. So spend $10MM and wadda ya got?

It's all overgrown and the area has exploded in development. It is a marvelous idea but, like many other things, the new residents would be all over it about the noise and pollution. I was on my way down to Solomons Island last year and stopped at the old gate. Sad to see.

 

So sad that a track with such rich history will never see racing ever again. Every time I drive by I cant help but look
