I recently found these old photos I took in 1982 at the annual Blob's Park (Jessup MD) car show. Don't recall how many years this ran (maybe some of you do), but it had a wide variety of interesting cars. Even though it would be years before I got my first Ferrari, I obviously had my eye on this nice collection of not-yet-vintage Ferrari's (well the TestaRosa would have been vintage).

I don't think Blob's Park exists today, but it was a privately owned Bavarian Beer Garden/park which provided a great venue for car shows of the day.

Anyone think they own, or know the whereabouts of any of these cars today?

    WOW!! Simply WOW!!!

Thanks for sharing! I remember my father talking how it was a waste of money to buy a Ferrari as we drove pass the dealer at Glebe and Rt1. He could easily owned a few back in the day, he just preferred American muscle.

Thanks Marcel - embarrassed that I didn't know who you were. Impressive body of knowledge you have on Ferrari. Appreciate you identifying the most important cars on this post.

Great pictures, thanks for sharing Patrick.

The yellow 365 BB is very interesting with the "Ferrari" script on the nose above the hood emblem; I've never seen that before. I wonder if it was stock (a factory option at the time) or an add-on by an owner.

Later add-on by owner. NOT stock. Not at all.
Ron Spangler of Prancing Horse Farm in Bel Air/MD had about seven 365 GT4 BB's in yellow in those years.

I'm still thinking on the TR in the second photo of the first post. Some other interesting hardware in that photo, too (SWB on the right, but what's on the left? Enclosed headlight competizione car?).

Was going down in my head through the cast of "usual" Mid Atlantic Ferrari characters around that time (Merritt, Marriott, Carl, Spangler etc.) and none jump out at me as being the right one.

Although, Merritt had multiple 250 TRs go through his hands at that time (0728TR and 0742TR), so maybe 0742TR? Maybe Simeone's (PA) 0710TR? Or Dusek's (PA) 0714TR?

Carl's 0750TR came later, I think (reportedly a car built around a motor).

I think these photos are a blast to see. I'm as curious about the style and the idea of a Beer Garden as I am the obviously soon to be vintage rides. Thanks for Sharing. Jon in Delaware

Gunshot Hall Plantation was another great venue for car shows back in the day. Need to dig up some photos of it and post them. Anyone else attend Gunston Hall or Blobs Park in the 70's / 80's ?

Silver/red 308 looks like a car owned by Jim Brown (Barchetta) and is still local. Blobs Park closed many years ago.

    Great photos. Thanks for posting.

Sam Smith, Steve White, Bill Ebert, Bruce Rippy come to mind as folks that might know the cars.

I would guess that is is 0742. It is almost certain to be a Merritt car. I recall him driving it around on the street a good bit at that time between DC and Philadelphia. It is for certain not 0710 (detachable nose) and for certain not 0714 (rear brake ducts).

I am convinced the 250 TR in the photo is 0742 TR of Dick Merritt.
All details fit, no exterior door hinges, LHD, interior color, no air vent below door, shape of grille opening. Also the years when Merritt had 0742 TR.
(for sure it is not 0710, 0714, 0750, etc.)
