The Greenbriar is a VERY nice place. Spouses will love the Dorothy Draper inspired decor. Interesting shopping on site and nearby. All food is excellent down to even a small pat of butter. Service is first rate. You will not be disappointed. I-64 is not a bad interstate traffic-wise. However, I-81 sucks because of too many trucks (congestion and rock chips). Try some of the lesser and back roads if you prefer to navigate around I-81. No affiliation with The Greenbriar, just a happy customer.

It does look like a very interesting event.
And it could become a major concours in our region over the years.

    The judging classes are interesting.
Not sure I understand the Vipers class.
Maybe they are the special focus for the 1st year?

    Automobile Judging Classes:
    - Brass Era Cars: 1895 to 1915
    - Classic Cars: 1925 to 1948
    - Pre-War Production Cars: 1916 to 1942
    - Post-War Production Cars: 1946 to 1982
    - Foreign Sports Cars : 1946 to 1982
    - Exotic Sports Cars: 1946 to 1982
    - American Sports Cars: 1946 to 1982
    - Preservation Cars, up to 1982
    - Race Cars: 1900 to present
    - Super Cars
    - Vipers
    - Display Cars (not judged)

Toggie, 2017 is the 25th Anniversary for the Viper, and also its last year of production. Perhaps that is the reason.

Yes, I just noticed that. Hmmmm.........

Not sure they would deem my car worthy, but could be worth it to make application. And I agree, could be a very fun drive there, especially in September!

Interesting info, and I like Vipers, but I mention the Vipers Class being a little strange in that Vipers are not mentioned any where else on their event website.

When I called today to cancel my room reservation, I asked why. She didn't know, only said that they would be trying to schedule for next year.

I just emailed the event organizer, since the website is still active. Apparently, it is still "on", but the date may change. Here is his reply to me:

    "Scott,

The Event has not been cancelled but the date may have to be changed. We will update the web-site as soon as we have confirmation. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

    Thanks,
    Wayne"

So, I guess we'll have to wait and see. Then hopefully still be able to book a room.

Joyce from C&C was at the Greenbrier for a Porsche event last weekend and I had her ask the hotel staff about it. Their reply was that as far as they knew, the event was still on.
