January C&G meet

In January, Chris from Executive Auto Detail ( Executive Auto Detailing: Home ) hosted us at his shop. The intent was to have an indoor venue to take off the cold winter chill, well, it ended up being in the mid 60's that day, yeah Oklahoma weather!

Big thanks to Chris and his team, they were great hosts and held a short tech session on clay bar etiquette. The turnout was fantastic and we even had sports car and racing legend Anatoly Arutunoff join us for the day!

February Meet pics

Our second meet of 2013 and the second winter meet hosted by Chris at Executive Auto Detail was a blast. We had a packed parking lot with 60 cars in attendance and close to 100 people there to enjoy.

The word must be spreading because this meet drew in three different clubs that showed up in numbers, Camaros, Imports, and a surprising number of Genesis owners.

Matt had his amazing 458 there to show the crowd and it truly is a rolling work of art. Thanks for sharing.

Toly brought out a 55 T-Bird that will soon be loaded on a boat and shipped to Europe this spring so that he and his wife can participate in three different road rallies over seas. I can only hope I'm still going that strong when I reach Toly's vintage...

Next meet March 16th at LaFortune from 9-noon. If you are on the email list you will get an update, or check the website or facebook page.
Now for a few pics...

Nope... I recently bought it from it's original owner in Seattle.

Car had Yellow calipers, but I changed them to Red. I am in love with the front wings and the eyebrow over the windows being white... makes the car look really unique and distinctive.

Matt I totally agree, that thin white trim line over the window adds just enough complete the flow and break up the black on top. Nice work!

The X5M has a dealer installed full HAMANN body kit. It is really finished off well and looks great in person. The owner also sports a tweaked out Aurora Flare Blue GTR pushing something like 940hp? I can't remember now but its insane...

We are back to our roots this month on the 16th, LaFortune parking lot from 9-12, just kickin tires and talkin shop... hope you all can make it...

Uhh isn't that an X6M?

Here the one I thought it was. This owner is getting an F12 so I figured he'd sold the 458.

No I don't, a friend sent me this pic and a farther one. I do have one of the rear if you'd like? There's a car identical to yours in the Dupont Registry at Ferrari New England.

Ah, of course that is an X6M, no edit feature for threads? Guess I just blindly replied, seemed legit at the moment, HA! Thanks for the catch.

Yep, the FNE one is really sweet and I love the red interior. Unfortunately, that dealer is in an unrealistic market with too much Wall Street cash. They wouldn't budge on price and were WAY and I mean WAYYYYY off base on their price. Just shows to me how corrupt and crazy the east Coast is... No concept of a dollar and how hard it is to actually earn. Easy come easy go.

My old spider is for sale and FOW and even they are NUTS. I actually find their pricing up there offensive.

We should all sell our cars in the north east.

No problem, the edit feature goes away 2 or 3 hours after posting I think, i've caught myself more than once. Thanks for the C&C advice BTW. Instead of starting my own I decided to get some car guys from a forum I'm on to bring their rides to (mainly mustangs but a few Vipers, older muscle cars and if all goes well a Gallardo and DBS) to an already on going one that I thought stopped happening. Please feel free to check this site out! http://www.coffeecruisein.com/index.html

Haha, very beautiful car either way, I like the darker silver rims vs the straight up black ones like on the one I posted.

March and April reminders

A Quick reminder about our March meet coming up this weekend. Saturday morning (16th) from 9-noon at LaFortune Park in the south parking lot by the ball fields at 61st and Yale. We are slowing it down a bit this month, no tech sessions, just our normal meet to kick tires and chat with friends. The weather is looking GREAT!

We have also been invited to join the Jaguar Club for a Poker Run and Wine Tasting/Luncheon at Tidal School Winery. This is an RSVP event as we need a good head count for our catered lunch. Details here:

2013 Oklahoma Dam Run
Poker Rally & Wine Tasting at Tidal School Winery

The Jaguar Club of Tulsa has invited Caffeine & Gasoline to our 2013 Oklahoma Dam Run and Poker Rally March 23. We are having another lovely drive thru northeast central Oklahoma where we will be crossing three different dams, while picking up playing cards at three listed pit stops, before arriving at the final destination, Tidal School Winery in Drumright, Oklahoma. Buy in for the Poker Rally is $5.00 per entrant, for those wanting an opportunity to collect the prize money. Best hand wins half of the pot second best gets 30% of the pot, while third best gets the remaining 20%.

For those members who pre-register for the rally and wine tasting by Thursday, March 21, you also have the opportunity to enjoy your favorite beverage from the wine tasting with a specially catered luncheon. The luncheon buffet spread is $15.00 and includes a glass of your favorite wine from the tasting. For those not pre-registering, you have the opportunity to go across the road to Joseph’s Fine Foods for what should be an equally fine meal. For reservations, Jaguar Club of Tulsa members will need to either call, or email Roger Hanes at (918) 663-6627, or roger.hanes@cox.net. Again, I have to let the winery know how many of us are to be expected by Thursday, March 21.

Upon payment of their entry fee, drivers will receive an envelope with their first two playing cards and driving instructions for the rally. Do not open the envelopes. Open envelopes will result in disqualification. Envelopes are to remain sealed until the big opening at Tidal School Winery. The rally will leave from the Mabee Center Parking lot at 81st and South Lewis at or about 9:30 am, Saturday, March 23. The drive is expected to take some two plus hours to complete including the three pit stops for collecting the other three playing cards. All drivers are encouraged to have a navigator, because some of the instructions will need to be anticipated.

__________________________________________________ _

This should be enough to keep us busy for the next couple weeks but the best is yet to come. Our 2013 Spring Drive is scheduled for April 20th and promises to be one for the record books. Please mark your calendars now for this drive, I've had a special sponsor contact me that will be worth coming to see. As the details get nailed down I'll be able to feed you more info but for now rest assured we are taking it up a couple notches in April. Stay tuned for more!

April 20, 2013 Caffeine and Gasoline Spring Drive and Meet

THIS is the meet to be at.

I'm happy to announce that St Louis Motorsports will be joining us on April 20th for our Spring Drive and meet. Ryan from STL MS has offered to bring down a selection of new show models for us to drool over (not on) during the early morning meet (8-9:30) at the northeast parking lot (I) of the Hard Rock Casino Tulsa. In addition to the show models will follow several Lamborghini demo units that he and his crew plan to take on the drive with us which will leave the parking lot at 10am.

This has cool written all over it and the route we will be taking is familiar with a few new twists and sections thrown in for good measure. I'll be checking the route tomorrow to make sure the pavement has survived all this rain lately and there are no surprises waiting for us in the form of a pot hole.

Some of you may be familiar with STL Motorsports, they are a certified Ferrari parts and repair center and premier pedigree dealership. If anyone is not familiar follow the link below to learn a little more about what Ryan has in stock and what STL Motorsports can do for you.

St. Louis Motorsports

Looking forward to seeing you all at the Hard Rock on the 20th!
