I finally had it with the old Tenax fasteners, some were bent, not latch, rusted, flapping in the wind, looked old, rusted, etc. So I decided to replace them all.

This website I used before for my sailboat, it has the Tenax hardware for the Ferrari boots at a reasonable price.

BoatCanvasSupplies dot com, in case the link does not show below:

Ferrari uses the German Tenax Chrome Plated Button-Small Head. $3.35 each on this website.

I also got the Tenax Stainless Steel Screws and the application Key. I did not want the plated ones, as I can polish the Stainless when it gets corroded over time.

The old Tenax are easy to remove, just unscrew the bottom with the key and they come off.

Then carefully remove the Ferrari black caps by slowly pulling them apart, work your way around. In my case, one Tenax was broken, that particular cap was a PITA!!! to remove and it cracked. Where can I get a replacement one?

The cap can then be pressed on to the new Tenax.

I bought new fiber washers from OSH for the screws. I believe they are size #8 or #9.

Now the boot looks brand new, no more flapping in the wind.

The Tenax on the seats work fine, so I did not replace them.

    Enjoy!!!

Strong strong work! I know how essential those fasteners are to the tonneau cover staying on, and the fact you have replaced them and kept the horsey is amazing. Those OEM fasteners are very rare. Great job.

Thank you for the pictures, I may take another shot at removing the plastic cap one of these days.
