Hi all, Well i finally got round to re-spraying the plenum chamber on my 1987 3.2 coupe and am very pleased with the results. It was all flaking off and looked very tired and nasty. I masked off the plenum chamber very carefully around the edges and then covered the complete engine bay and rear of the car with newspaper to avoid overspray. I then masked of the very thin ribbed lines, they are about 5mm wide and also as much of the lettering as possible. I sprayed it using very high temperature red engine paint designed for this purpose and gave it about 5 or 6 coats. Allowed it to dry a couple of days then peeled off the masking tape. I tidied up the lettering with a sanding block and job done! Looks like new now Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice work. I have done this previously by painting then lightly sanding the fins until they shine through. Looks great
Thanks everyone for your kind comments. It was quite easy to do but you need patience doing it the old school way with masking tape. Bell, yours looks amazing and the whole engine bay is looking superb now. Mine needs lots of cleaning but that's for another day Cheers.
