Hi, I would like to get hold of one of these tops for my Mondi T in case of getting caught in a shower. Ricambi say no longer available. If anyone has one they would sell to me, would be great Can anyone help please?
Go direct to the source: pm Fchat name= "Hank Sound", inventor of the spider top, he may have some available. Best
Hi Simon, I'm glad you like my Spider Top ........... but I must be honest here. The Spider Top wasn't designed to ward off the attack of an occasional rain shower. It's intention was simply, to give the owners of these cars, a faster way of protecting their interiors from sun (UVA) and wind damage. Spider Top is a realistic, super light, fast alternative, to launching your "real" conv. top). Also, it takes up about as much space in your "boot", as a small coin purse. I'm presently looking for a new fabricator to continue my Spider Top offering. Simon, I promise to keep you and any other interested parties, in the loop. Cheers, Hank
You silly goose ............ a Spider Top tee shirt won't protect your interior from the elements.............. Be talking with you soon, Hankie
Oh please. Hank is far too modest. My Hank Top or Hankie has saved my interior many, many times from rain, diuretic birds, over saliva-tic pedestrians and the would-be petty thief. A torrential downpour, perhaps not, but given the rest of the list, priceless! It stores nicely in its tethered bag and deep into my T top cubby. Love It. Another mfg source? Maybe its time for another trip to Thailand, Hank?
The factory tonneau cover is a great accessory made with the same canvas as the original top; it also has leather bungee cords which are a nice detail. The cover saved my interior from a seagull..... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey Jonathan, I too, have that same OEM cover. But honestly, I found it too bulky and because it was held in place by those straps and hooks, I was totally turned off. I decided to create something far less invasive, lighter in weight, something that would take up so little space when in storage, you would almost forget that it was there. Spider Top is a joy to use - and it will be back - Cheers, Hank Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hank I'm surprised that you haven't taken your Spider Top and branched out to other cars. I think it's brilliant. I won't leave home without it.
The OEM is bulky and does not cover the whole interior from sun damage. Hank's ingenious Spider Top is pure Brilliance!!! At one point, I tried to make a prototype from a spare cover I had but its still not as nice as Hank's. Hank, like Ron said, you need to expand the product offering to other cabrios, speedsters, and spiders. You folks make my heart quiver. Another reason to feel thankful - blessed. I'll get my act together - - and make Spider Top available again. Thanks for the love, Hank
Me three. I'll take two, got a friend with a Mondi who'd love it. It's a blessing for the lazy F-car owner.
You guys are killing me !!! Just give me some time to find a good sewing contractor. it's forthcoming ....... really ........ it is ...... and Daniel @ RICAMBI will be your store of choice .......... (are there any others??). Cheers & be well, Hank
Hank I can start a sweatshop in my garage for you, ICE needs a place for those folks to work instead of our dole , surely they wouldnt fine me for providing honest jobs and oh you met the wifey she run a tight ship! no workey no money! lol
Has there been any action on reviving the "Spider Top" in the past few years? If so, I would like to get one. Alden
This thread is two years since the last post. I sent Hank a PM asking about the tops, we'll see what he says. Alden
