Does anyone know this part? Now that the rubber cover has broken off into 2 pieces. do I need to replace it or can I coat the end with Plasti-DIp? There is a before and after pict.

Also I know I'm not the only one with a mangled alternator cover thingy last mentioned by Lusso64. Has anyone come up with a replacement at a reasonable cost? I remember talk of fiberglass replacement? See photo of cheese grater.

    Thanks,

That is the male side of the Crank Position Sensor. Does not look too bad. Remove the metal clamp and get the whole connector out. Clean up the oil. Tape it up with a bit of black electrician tape and it will be fine.

When I changed out my alternator I did not put the cheese-grater cover back on, FYI.
    Cheers,
    Greg

Greg, so it seems no one has found a replacement for alternator cheese grater cover. If I find a solution I will let you know.

    thanks

    Yelcab and MvT,
Thanks for pointing out the crank sensor. After research with this knowledge to the 348
brotherhood I went for the replacement crank sensor at Autozone.
With Kia part number and $31 and some plastic grinding to get the plastic male end to fit into the metal holder
I was better off than 160 each from europe or $300 each from usa. So went with the
south korea for $62 for 2. This topic is well documented with the 348 brothers. It is running good for me 2.

    thanks,
