Dear, i have Mondial T 1989my no kat. Here in Italy. After one months i tried to start the car for a little round but the car don't run..and from exhaust make bursts... phase sensor is ok spark ok spark cable ok fuel pump ok (i hope) ignition ok idea???
Don't know. In 8 years of ownership ours has always started. The engine is essentially two in one so a no-start is rare. Could be the shared idle crank sensor. I have also read on this Forum that when the grease dries up in the clutch dampener it will confuse the phase sensor and cause a no-start but I think this is typically when hot. Maybe try resetting the computer by disconnecting the battery? Is the battery fully charged? Check your fuse box for burned wires. Best of luck with it, Dave
That one got me before. I could not figure out what the heck was going on, she just would cut off and not start up again for a day.
It's as if some of those alarms were designed by car thieves - - the owner can't start the car, but the car can be stolen anyway !!! WTF ?? Cheers, Hank
I had one of my ignition modules go bad. Car would not start. Ferrari doesn't call it "ignition module", but that is what it is. Replaced it and it fired up just fine. Hope it is something simple. Regards, Jerry
Not sure but, when engine turns does engine sound ok, is there any strange sound. Your backfiring seems like timing is off?
Battery fully charged...i hope but is ok crank sensor?? maybe but is inside...before we are in change the two phase sensor and also fuse box to test....
not strange sound....the backfire is maybe for phase sensor problem..one just changed but nothing....
Well, normally it is either no spark or no fuel (could be both). Both could be low battery, so no spark and no power to run the fuel pump (just an example, you said battery fully charged). So suggest you first CONFIRM you are getting fuel at the plugs. If yes, then on to the spark issues. Given the quirky electrics, I would be looking for something electrical (like a fried relay or a bad ground). Sorry I can't be more help. Regards, Jerry
ok If it was old fuel still then the possibility was there that it had no fire power anymore. happens often with cars that are run 2 to 3 times a year. Old fuel simple does not ignite anymore. I'm with Jerry, Not enough to no spark or no fuel. If both then the car ideally should start unless it is off timing..
Another thing to check, the ECU computers are grounded on the cam covers. Also check grounding strap underneath engine to frame. Have you tried spraying start fluid into the airbox? Dave
