Anyone have a tip on putting the boots on new Magnecor wires? Do you use a lubricant to fit the terminal end into the boot?

Soapy water works best as its slides into rubber boots/extenders, wipe with towel and let it dry out to a tight fit.
Also works good for applying vinyl wrapping on cars etc.

I believe I used a dry silicon spray lubricant, which I think was what they recommended or I read somewhere. I don't think it attacks the wiring material the same way a petroleum based product would. In any case, the wires have been in the car about 5 years and show no signs of problems.

And one more suggestion was to freeze the wires and warm the boots IIRC. Makes wires a bit stiffer.

Thanks, everyone. I'm going to try the silicone spray.
