Hi all, I was wondering if someone could advise me on which tool is needed to remove the nut which holds the steering wheel adapter on to the steering column? This nut is not a hex, but rather a round nut with 4 square cut outs around the circumference. Many thanks. Jeff 83 QV
It is a 38mm ring nut tool : Ferrari Parts : RNT-38 Ring nut tool - 38mm : Ricambi America Shops and professionals often have the correct tool in their bin. DIY and one-time users seem to chisel/hack or otherwise fabricate a tool for limited use, then simply buy a replacement nut.
Daniel, Thanks for the info, much appreciated. A friend of a friend has a set of these sockets, he is going to loan them to me for a case of beer. Regards Jeff
Search the forum for information on how to make one. It's easy if you have a Dremel Tool and a couple of cut-off discs. That said, once I made mine, I had to use an impact wrench to break the nut free from the steering column.
