Took the '88 in for a fluid change, repair of a leaking shift rod seal and an overall check out. This is what you get....an engine out service to get rid of a bunch of leaks Check out the old sealant used to stop the leaks. Yes, I could have driven the car as is. My oil and coolant change led to my engine being on the ground too But as in all three of our cases, I'm not sure this is because it was so badly needed as much as a sick desire to see our engines out of our cars. It's like a rite of passage I believe. I've known since doing my first service that I badly wanted the engine out of the car. Can't tell you why but I've known that desire was there.
