Yes that's right Folks, Emily couldn't resist Katos charms any longer and so we decided to get a 3.2 Mondial chum for the the rest of the stable. Pics to follow once I get back from flight. Cooool!!! Ha ha. I am chuffed! Does it show?;-)
Congrats!!!! what a way to step in the new year. What was that saying again? If you can't beat them, join them Best Jurgen
Many thanks Chaps, it seems a bit crazy having 2 Mondials, but what can I say, we like err....The Mondial
Sjeez Bell Are you hoarding or what? Are you driving the prices by buying all Mondi's available? Good luck with the new girl! And you know: this thread is worthless without: PICS. 😜 And please make it a family shoot with the complete stable! Happy wrenching & lot's of miles full of smiles Bart
Congrats! If one is good. Two is better. Who's is this btw? Anyone on here ? 1985 Ferrari Mondial Convertible 17k
Nice! now there was a LHD black 3.2 for sale, which was quite quickly sold. Not sure if it was the original color though, but what does it matter 'Cavallo' will get the full treatment knowing you a bit curious if it is the one I have in mind! Now what will Otto think? Congrats and for sure already a happy 2015!
Hey many thanks Chaps, the Fiat X19 has pride of place and Emily says she will never sell it, and if she did I'd buy it. Cavallo, is an introduction into greater complexity both in driving and maintenance all of which Emily wants to do. For that reason we decided to get a newer car that needs no bodywork doing at all. However cam belts are needed and engine detailing work all of which Emily is doing. Basically she wants to tackle a Ferrari, and although she doesn't know it yet she's more than able. The thing is she won't drive Kato even though she wants to, because she sees it as my car. Now she has Cavallo, she can properly appreciate the Ferrari experience for herself. It will also show her just what an awesome car the X19 is. Anyway, I will post picks as soon as the car is delivered Folks. All the best Bell.
Oh yes just to add, driven a few 3.2 cars now and Kato is faster, that said all of those cars have not have the Kato tweaks ;-) Hi MvT, hope all is well with yours, just to say it's not the black one but as soon as it arrives we will do a full gallery.
Is a Fiat X19 the same as a Fiat X1/9 which is what the successor was here in the States to the 850. I had a 1969 Fiat 850 convertible. Fond memories. But it had the heart of a humming bird with about half the life expectancy.....
Hey congratulations and well done! I remember when we last spoke that you were looking for one. Where did you buy it from? Look forward to seeing some photos and more details. Hope to see you both at AutoItalia in May. Enjoy it Emily
Hey Guys, sorry but we won't be taking delivery for a week or so but when we do I can assure you there will be lots of pics and a video of Emily doing the cam belts Hey Peter, Auto Italia right on we'll be there! The only problem is what car to take haha, I still like the Fiat X19, I'm seriously in love with that little car. However I've just asked Emily and she can't decide, gosh I hope this doesn't make us sound like a couple of arses, we are just car nuts that's all. Hi Rapalea here's Emily with the X19 or X1/9 we did a 3,500 mile tour of Italy and the south of France, Monaco, Cannes, Nice, Turin etc with no breakdowns or issues of any kind. As you can see the car got quite a bit of attention and that's an understatement! Lovely photos, but where did you put your luggage for 2 people? You gotta take them both for AutoItalia, it will be an awesome drive down there. What's the specs? Like the hat Emily, I reckon you're the one getting all the attention
Ah cheers Chaps. Well we had loads of room for luggage in the Fiat because it has 2 proper trunks, one in the front and one in the rear. In the rear trunk we put all our outfits in and other holiday things and the front trunk had a portable garage complete with spare parts and tools etc. Needless to say the X19s faultless reliability meant that we never had to venture into the front trunk at all ;-) Taking 2 cars would be ok but we like to chat to each other going to these events.....maybe we could get CB radios in the cars Top Gear style so we can chat on those in the cars on the way down.
