A black powder-coated dead pedal from Hill Engineering, like Howie's, is on my list after I finish my current projects.
My winter to-do list will definitely run into summer. Replace 26 year old Spark plug wire set with Magnecor 7mm black. Change spark plugs NGK DR8EIX. Replace oil cooler fan thermal switch. Replace engine bonnet lid struts. Install bonnet lid insulation. (disintegrated all over the engine for the 2nd. time.) Clean & detail engine bay. Charge A/C. Replace speed sensor sending unit. Send out Shock actuators for rebuild. (Dr. Z CNC) Replace 80's sound system with new generation blue tooth unit. Speakers included. Re-spray and touch up lower front spoiler. Replace wiper blades. Remount window washer fluid container bracket and container. Re-spray window trim. Take out driver door door ding. Service sun roof. Possible tire change. If all goes as planned, 82587 will be on the green in August for judging at the Ferrari Int'l meet Monterey, CA
Engine-out major (and all that entails), plus: * fix a/c unit * replace cat's w/:straight pipes * replace Valeo ECU * move drivers seat back 2"
Move the drivers seat back two inches? I am 6' 2" and have no problems when the seat is all the way back. Are you taller?
why not change the qv to a 3.2 ??? Here we go! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
My wish list? Cigarette lighter to 12v. Remove old phone wiring. Put in vent kit on dash AC. (Sitting in box on garage shelf). Reality? Wait for salt to wash off roads and drive like stolen.
Just painting touch up to do and a drive shaft gaiter to replace then it's ready. Things needed flower the summer B pillars both sides Studs for the roof cover Seat belt fastener plastic covers both sides Radio replacement to period or upgrade to bluetooth. And speaker upgrade if radio is. That's it... The 365 on the other hand has a list the length of my arm.....
Yes I am, but after a year's worth of home renovation ("sudden release" water damage) I'm just now having some fun. In another thread I said, "It's almost more fun fixin' than driving.", especially where I live. After I complete this list, SRI fuel hoses are next.
I can look it up later... They're okay, with snap lids. A little mod is due on the dc adapter so that it will fit in the console panel. The quality looks great in photos and from about 10 feet away; does feel like they're less than 10 dollars each (which they are). Edit: They sell two kinds; one is just a DC adapter like mine and the other an universal cigarette lighter. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-12VDC-Auto-Power-Outlet-/110826773600?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19cdca5c60 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-12VDC-Lighted-Cigarette-Lighter-Power-Outlet-/110567937772?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19be5cd6ec
A bit but have long legs and find it a bit cramped and tough to get in/out. A couple of more inches is supposed to make a huge difference... Cheers, Greg
I don't know if this is a true-ism - - Ya know, Italians - - long arms and short legs (generalization). Could that be the clue to their "comfort" zone ?? What ever - - Cheers, Hank
Hank, As a follow up to the Valeo ECU issue, it came back with a fried power supply. The dealer is recommending we never jump start the Valeo cars as they are extremely sensitive to voltage/amperage spikes. Additionally, make sure the alternator keeps the voltage up as to not increase the current through the system (what happened to mine). The good news from the major service so far is that the A/C only required a connection fixed and it is up and running. More to come as the soap opera at the dealer continues! Cheers, Greg
One trick to jumping cars that are sensitive to voltage spikes (a lot of the newer cars) is to pull some voltage before the jump. So for example, if you turn on the running lights, it will help even out the surge when you connect the power supply. And I always connect the negative lead to the car to be jumped last........ Regards, Jerry
It's R&D automotive in Manchester, UK. They tend to have a very good mix of old and new, racing and road cars.
Now that winter is over... I'm finally finished with my projects. - New tires - Radiator pinhole leak, system flush included (completed) - All center/lower coolant hoses (completed) - HVAC vacuum canister (completed) - Replaced the shift shaft seals, includes engine and gearbox fluid replacement - Replaced the cigarette lighters with 12VDC power receptacles Apparently I had the common internal shift shaft seal leak (engine oil entering the gearbox). Fixed now and wow, what a difference; shifts are very smooth. Perfect day for a test drive too.
