i realize this is a minor issue but my 86 mondial is missing its cigarette lighter. i am kind of a stickler for detail so i would like to find one that fits in the socket since i am tired of looking at the empty hole. i saw one on ebay but it was 125 bucks, and i dont believe the stardard ones will plug into the socket. can anyone advise?

I've found part no. 61658900 / part no. 70000627 on Eurospares. Could this be what you're looking for?

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

There are several really good and informative threads on this already. A quick search will help since the variations/descriptions are diverse.

If you can afford a Ferrari, you can afford a $125 cig lighter.

    It goes with the territory.

Why is it that most of the Mondial's you see for sale, or pics posted by owners have the cigarette lighter missing, mine is also missing on my '86, weird............

I'm left with the same question. Mine also didn't came with the cigarette lighter... I'd say at least 8 out of every 10 Mondials I see don't have the lighter.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

People use that socket for other functions...handy charging, GPS charging etc..and forget where they put the lighter.

    Guilty as charged!

I have three in my garage junk drawer, leftover from when I sold a '72 Pro-street Chevy C-10, '87 Fiero GT and a 2005 Crossfire SRT6.

This is the spare one I have, I'm selling it. On the box it says "61107 - 50000 - 0000 Cigarette Lighter". Original. Send me a PM if you need one.

Unless I'm wrong, unfortunately I don't think this will work for the skinny type cig lighter sockets by (Cigarette Lighter Brico Pram) like the one in my 88 Mondial. The modern Ferrari lighters don't fit nor are the oem skinny type designed to give auxiliary power in the Mondial. Note the skinny open hole in the OEM for cigarettes to be placed in for lighting.

At one point, I was thinking about yanking out the lighter and installing a modern unit, but since I'm not a smoker and only wanted aux power for my GPS/phone, I found a plug in the glove box for this purpose and just kept the oem the way it is.

Also see my thread for aux power alternative: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/mondial/344077-mondial-cigarette-lighter-auxiliary-power.html

I agree. I kept the skinny lighter as its OEM and mounted a standard socket under the dash out of sight.

That one is for several Ferraris but not for LHD Mondials (8 - 3.2) so you should be able to sell it quickly in the FerrariAds.

The T has indeed the modern one. I banned mine to the "Keep it" parts box and put in a modern one.

If that can help you digest the $125 I just got mine for the 308 which is a Brico Pram like Mike showed and these are more like $300. I wanted it for 16 years and I just took the plunge. Silly prices for lighters :-(
