Well, thanks to a lot of help from the members of this forum, I have located and purchased a Mondial of my own. It is a 1988 3.2 Cabriolet in awesome, almost concours condition. Red, of course! It has taken me 40 years of yearning to finally get "my Ferrari" and I couldn't be more pleased. I am going to pick the car up later next week and transport it in a covered trailer to my home in central Florida. Thanks again for all the assistance, this site is a wonderful resource and I look forward to participating and assisting other owners as much as I can. As a Regional Coordinator for Jaguarforums.com (I also own a wonderful Jag, I hope the cat and the steed don't mind sharing stable space in my garage, lol!) I realize the value of owners helping other owners. Pic below, more to follow. Image Unavailable, Please Login
And congrats from across the pond. I have the same and can hand on heart say you will quickly fall in love!
Thanks for adding a Mondial to the Florida contingent!!! You will be pleased, lots of days for top down driving here! Regards, Jerry
if only the brake calipers could look modern day as you can easily see them with the 360 wheels. Cheers, Greg
$1200 gets you the look! http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferrari-parts-collectibles/487674-ferrari-360-oem-starfish-wheels-w-pirelli-tires-%241-200-a.html
So what would be the best way to update the look of the calipers without offending the purists? Or maybe they are already offended by the 360 wheels so the door is open for anything, lol! Alden
My Mondial T has 360 rims and I love the look. The rears needed to have the inner mating surface machined down to have the tires fit in the fenders without rubbing when the suspension moved. The PO of the car did all of this, I just reaped the benefit. I also have the original rims in the garage. DavidJ Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congratulations Alden! It looks great! I'm still on the hunt for mine. I may give up on finding a Coupe and go with a Cab instead. David, that is a beautiful car! 2cam
Maybe something like this: MGP Caliper Covers Although the purists will revolt for sure . Its all good (as a fellow Fchatter says). Cheers, Greg Image Unavailable, Please Login
Every time I drive my car the smile on my face widens. I bought my Ferrari to wear it out! It is my intention to have the first Mondial with 250,000 miles. Looks like a beautiful car that you will enjoy for years to come.
I had thought about something like that, looks good but a little "ricer" looking when you know what it really is. How about just painting them red and putting a "Ferrari" script on them in white? Lots of guys on my Jag forum have done this to their Jag calipers. I just painted mine red. Alden Image Unavailable, Please Login
