Well I was finally able to get my Mondi out and run her all day. This is the first time since I bought her that I have been able to drive around. After the 12k to get the engine all straightened out. I must say yeeeeeeeee. Haaaaaaaawwwwww what a fun day so worth the money spent. Next weekend she goes to the restoration shop. The shop says 90 days and she will look brand new. Yes I am keeping the color true to the car as well as the interior. The restoration of the outside is going to cost 14k. He said it will be very close if not concourse. 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃 it will be late September before she is home in a brand new sexy suit. Yes do the math and add what I paid for the sore example I bought. And I'm over her worth. But I must say ohhhhhh wellllll I will have all records and all restoration is being documented and video documented so maybe if anyone else decides to love the Mondi maybe my spending will be justified however the love I have for my Fcar it does not matter what it cost. I love this machine. I will be buying another Fcar after I get my Mondi back to her 1982 glory.

I have watched a ton of videos on leather restoration. This winter I will attempt a full restore of the interior myself. I will post as I go and of course before and after.

The exterior up close and personal you can tell some one attempted a re spray and did a horrible job. The bumpers are in sad shape and there are some dents that just shouldn't be in her at all. The shop will refurb all rubber back to new strip it down and repaint it the right way as well as powder coat all of the trim that is around windows etc. the shop can re coat the rims like factory and straighten up the front bonnet at which up close you can tell is out of whack it appears it was bumped in the front in slightly. It does look great from a far tho

    fuel gauges bounce that typical

some have had bouncing tach - I recommend cleaning all connectors in the rear harness and cleaning each fuse and connector in the fuse box

neither case should you be majorly concerned

My fuel gauge works fine when full tank, it starts bouncing once it hits 3/4 fill or less.
Goes back and forth and finally stabilizes to almost accurate at stop. I think its the gumming of the tank float on sender unit. Unless you are willing to take it apart and clean it, just have to live with it. My tach and speedo are working fine so can't comment on that.

You have my entire support! First of all, the Mondial costs about half what a two seater costs to begin with. That leaves you with about $30k just to catch up. And if you are like me the car will end up in your estate anyway. I am happy to let my relatives sort it out after that..... ;)

She looks nice Rodney! Quite some work to make her ready for painting! So many parts to take of and to be painted. Hope you keep the wheels though!

I'm keeping the wheels. The shop says they can make them brand new. I was going to get aftermarket all chrome but decided to keep her all original.

I drove around all day today and took a night ride. Sooooooooooo much enjoyment from my M8 I just love it. I am sad to see her go for four months but when I get her back it will be worth the wait.
