Had a wonderful 50's night at the local Chick Fil-a. If you haven't been to one make a point to stop in. They are fabulous. found out Elvis was my wife's cousin. Then on the way home it was getting dark and I noticed the red light in my oil pressure gauge was on. The needle was all but straight up and everything sounded fine. Now I mention that it was getting dark because I hardly ever drive at night in the deer infested roadways of MD in my beloved Ferrari and I can't see the light under normal driving unless I bend over to look. It seemed to come and go with no rime nor reason. Since the sender has only one wire I assume the gauge is what turns the red light on. Anyone ever seen this?

Usually there are two senders, one for the gauge one for the light

Check the oil pressure light switch sender and wire connection. The sender (smaller body) is on the opposite side (the side under the plenum) to the oil pressure sender (larger body) in the location of the base of the oil filter housing. Wire color code should be Gray/Yellow (Gray'Black for the oil pressure gauge sender wire).

    Howie, hear me now - - - -

You mustn't be losing sleep every time you read about one of your Mondial brothers or sisters, experiencing some car related setback !! :):)

If while looking for the right sized socket, we have to worry about your bloomin' sleep patterns, can you imagine just how fragmented our (already compromised) focus is? Being concerned as to whether you're tired or not, while I'm trying to deal with my initial car problem, makes me think more about you - than my car. I need to bill you. :):)

    Sleep well (no matter what),

The little red light in the gauge is controlled by a different sender than the gauge

Errr...???...that's what I said as per my previous post above:
