Recently discovered my brake light switch needed adjusting (after replacement last summer), and after trial and error discovering the adjustment was reversed--adjust sensor further IN to have lights turn off at lower position: included many episodes of pulling the brake pedal back with my toe.

Afterwards, the pedal was very high in location, with a new long free play distance with what seemed to still be a normal preserved brake engagement location. The pedal was very loose. Driving was difficult, you had to truely lift your leg to get up high enough to use the brake pedal with a new long stroke.

Parts diagrams don't seem to indicate any limit adjustment for the return stroke. Is there one?

Is it only the cup of the rod in the actuator insertion into the booster that limits the free play? Or did the actuator rod actually dislocate from the booster actuator receptical?

    Anyone else encounter this?

Are you sure that it was backwards?

it sounds like you may have put it in backwards have you tried to put it back the way it was?
