Just saw this new listing. Looks like it has a few issues (body and oil leak). It will be interesting to see what it sells for. Ferrari Mondial Convertible | eBay JZ
Looks fairly nice. That body work will be more than a "minor" repair if done professionally. Hurts value a lot. BTW- never realized how much rear seat footwell room is lost in the "T".
Does the seller even own the car? The body damage is on the left not the right, and they have a 3 position switch for the suspension. Also in the behind photo the trunk is not closed all the way?
And what's going on just behind the passenger side cheese grater. It appears to be some sort of depression. If that's so, that is the big one !! I can't believe the pictures that some folks use while advertising an automobile for sale. And maybe a little car washing would help - - before we take pictures in the bright sunlight with this little cell phone End of rant Hank
It's not really as bad as that picture would lead us to believe. Both front seats are in the full back position of the rails ! From there, it's a long reach to the steering wheel. Cheers, Hank
Ad leads you to believe that this is (could be) the car from the movie "Scent of a Woman"....The car in the movie was White and was highlighted in the recent magazine "60 fabulous ferraris on rodeo drive"....10/12/14..
Not sure how you came up with white? But the car in the movie was red. Also I saw it at the Rodeo Drive car show, again red.
Actually the car in Scent of a Woman was red. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Itr0jcR0S4s Perhaps the best appearance and footage of a Mondial t in a movie (Also good footage at the end of Weird Science of a 3.2) Also, Hank.. I know it's the movies.. (You would know) but it doesn't appear he is using his left foot for the clutch. Dare we hypothesize this could be a Valeo? Fun to ponder.
I guess I am the victim of believing what I read.... I did not see the movie. Pictures attached from the magazine stating verbatim: "This is the Ferrari Pacino drove in the film". I took this at face value....as...there are other cars in this magazine that I am very intimate with whereby the picture and its description matched exactly... Hi James, the movie came out in 92, so they filmed it before then, what was the first year for the Valeo?
I believe there is a thread here somewhere on that car it was owned by the director or producer of the movie I think.
I was just looking through old threads on the Scent of A Woman Mondial and didn't find any definitive proof of the vprovenance of the car.
Howie.. I think the Valeo was just '93 however, my build month was October '92. I guess it depends on when it filmed and if they could get there hands on it. Most likely not. Cool video JZ
RED RED RED saw it myself maybe you are confusing Dirty Rotten Scoundrals or Nicole Simpson as the famous white ones
So the reference, this car is the one in Scent of a Woman had been used to discribed just about all red Mondial cabrios I suspect! It is the claim to fame when folks ask what car is that? White??? No the article was also using this ref but its not the exact car! The ebay seller sounds like a dealer, just trying to flip it and again, using the ref in the context above! Cheerio
And again, another Ferrari for sale with just under 30K miles. I have not looked at a Carfax for this car, but I always get a chuckle out of Ferrari ads showing just under 30K. We have to be the worst marque for judging vehicles strictly on mileage, even if low mileage is a result of years of sitting idle.
The car used in Scent of a Woman was 1992 Mondial T Valeo Cabriolet VIN ZFFRK33A7N0092837, built in January, 1992. This 1989 Mondial, s/n 82222, was NOT the film car.
Thanks Greg. Are we to assume this is sequential in order of import? Not sure if that is how this works.? If so it's amazing that mine is #13 (95924) and that happens to be my birthday and lucky number.
