Hi all I got a new shifter gate for easier shifting, not that I was really having a problem or trouble shifting but this is way nicer. And much better when you are shifting fast, and less clank and clunk. As you can see how the fingers are cut from 1st to 2nd and 3rd to 4th. Its a sweet item.

    Nice Howie!

I think your rubber shift boot needs to be readjusted

it looks a little too smushed

be aware that it can smoosh against your reverse reverse light switch and hang it up even when not in reverse

Is the rubber shift boot a "T" thing?
    I don't have one in my '88.

yes it is also the same on the 348

I looked at my 3.2 and this boot could fit but then again why add any more weight!!!!

    Nice!

Where did you get it and how much did it cost?

Seems like you could also have a good machinist "re=work" a stock gate to add the contours.

I got this from Ricambi, it looks like the same as Hill Engineering. At $142, if you ever buy from Ricambi do not forget about the 10% discount for F-Chatters. Here is another photo of the boot not so smoosh now, I plan on taking off the shift plate for a better view of the boot.

10% off for Fchat members, Dan who runs Ricambi is a Class Act !
As much as I like Ebay, I try to support the little shops like Dan's for better customer service and networking.
    Cheers

    A few questions:
    1. When you unscrew the gate shifter, do you need to put some pressure to lift it off?
    2. Does the rubber boot screw in below?
    3. Mine seems to have foam in there. Do some cars have foam instead of the rubber boot?

My 89 t-Coupe has only foam no rubber boot.
The foam seems to have disintegrated.

Is that Fchat discount on all orders or is that one per year? Maybe Daniel can chime in here.

Does this new gate retain the original lock out feature for reverse, where you need to push down on the stick a bit?

Yes it still has that push down feature. Did you look at it on their website to better explain the shift pattern?
