    Hi Crew,

I am looking at a 1989 Mondial t convertible (I thank Howie for being my eyes). A couple of things came up:

    1. Missing tool kit
    2. Repaired tear in convertible top (photo attached)

Are these 'deal breaker' issues? Do they devalue the car. I've heard convertible tops to be extraordinarily costly.

    Look forward to your thoughts.

Also, it looks like the leading edge of the passenger rear window has a chip? This will be confirmed or refuted.

    No way a deal breaker

    1) tool kits for T Mondis are in $500 800 range
    2) Convertible top ~$1300 INSTALLED Rich and Famous

For #1 dont need it except for concours and even then its only a few points deduction

for #2 I can help you get it done before the car leaves LA area

ps when changing the top the latches may not be good those are from Ron Frohock here on the site for ~$200/pr

the window looks like it may be fixed by an auto glass repair shop to at least "soften" the issue

could maybe only need to be injected with epoxy then polished

yep I know a mobile guy for that too !

99% of the time we had our top down. It's definitely not a deal breaker IF the cost of replacement was factored in price as a reduction or fixed. Like said never truly had top up so no big deal for us. Same with tool kit. They are a dime a dozen and if you need help I can PM a source

Tool kit isn't really necessary unless you plan on entering a concours.

However, it is always good to have when selling the car on later.

Unlike the tool roll on my '87, the "T" tool kit comes in a small leather luggage bag.

I thought that originals were in the $1500 range.

    Cheers

I am interested in a tool kit for a 93 Mondial T. I just got the car and the prior owner lost the original tool kit. Where can I get one? Any assistance you can provide will be appreciated.

The "Lost and found" department is usually on Ebay after the sale of the car.

I know it happens that the kits get separated from the cars, but with the complete kits going for high $, how could anyone really "lose" their very valuable tool kit?

    .

Some ppl who sold the car might have kept the toolkit as a memento.
