Yesterday was another great day for our '86 Cab., we won a 1st Place in the Continental Europe Class at the Tucson "Cops & Rodders" Car Show, the largest car show in Tucson with 600 cars in 66 Classes covering everything from A to Z. This with our 1st place last month at the Classic Car Show (the second largest) caps off a Great year for our Mondial.
The 1974 Karmann Ghia belongs to my wife and had it not been for a 1961 Bug next to her she would have won an award also

Looking good, 600 cars is a lot! Did you get a trophy or a plaque?

And happy to find another Mondial owner whom also loves Ghias. I have 2 (both currently under restoration), but they look nothing like your gorgeous 74.

I have a 67 KG Convertible - you guys think the Mondial has some strange construction and issues, try restoring a 1967 VW!! Very bizarre with 1 year only really weird stuff.

I also have a 74 coupe, that is currently in the complete teardown phase. The pan is fully restored, and the engine/transmission is done. However, nothing else at this point. It's a slow project that I probably won't complete until retirement.

Congrats again on your award! Beautiful cars - both of them!

    Howie,
Most of the awards in this area are plaques, there are a couple that give out trophies. Just did a count for the past 5 years, 17 trophies and 18 wall plaques.

No, just two on the Mondial, others are for the 1962 Porsche 356B, 1987 Porsche 993 Cab (1), 1929 Model A High Boy (3), 2012 Corvette Grandsport (6), 1976 Triumph TR7 (2) and 1974 Karmann Ghia (2). The rest were all for the 1962 Porsche.
